Incredibly poignant to walk in the shoes of those who instigated the Rising and to stand where Padraig Pearce gave the address. There is now an amazing museum in the basement telling the story in great detail.

This Post Office has a whole lot of history and it is like walking through a time machine especially with the interior being exactly like the way old post offices were. Friendly staff in this attraction and a beautiful exterior, perfect for any history seeker

This is a place with the same feel as Wounded Knee. Here the Irish people of the Easter Rising made their last stand. There is not that many memories, save a plaque and a small statue of the ancient hero Cuchulain in his deaththroes, but it still makes me feel sad, angry and luckily also a little hopefull.

Their exhibition is fantastic. They live up to the promise that once you cross the GPO's doors, you will be able to "witness history". It is an award-winning exhibition about the 1916 Easter Rising and it's very easy to tell why they won the prize.

A lot of information is covered, with some overlap and a few gaps about the later wars. But overall worth a visit if you are interested in the 1916 rebellion.

An amazing museum tour of the history of this iconic building and City. It is worth paying a little extra to gain the headset to guide and inform you around this informative an emotive tour. Excellent museum tour as my daughters of nine and ten were fascinated from start to finish. We spent two and half hours throughout the main... More

The museum is nicely done and gives the visitor a detailed view of the events of Easter week, 1916. Reservations are required and this avoids crowding, and is well done.

This was one of our first but still one of our most moving experiences in Ireland. I put my finger in a bullet hole and I felt grateful for the men and women who defied British rule even when they knew it was a losing cause. The exhibit inside was new and quite excellent. It gives you the big picture... More

2016 was the 100th anniversary of Ireland's first major armed uprising against British rule, eventually leading to freedom and the creation of the Republic of Ireland. The information and exhibits were informative and well laid out. Plus, there is an excellent gift shop with an adjoining cafeteria that serves very good food and includes an open air patio where I...
