The best thing is that you will not need a lot of travel to see this place. it is right in the center. However, it looks to very special, and it is maybe the history being most interesting.

I did not enjoy the experience here, it seemed to be set up more on the level of a school trip for children. Although a lot of information was presented, I felt it was overpriced and there was so much more in Dubln to see for better use of time.

There really isn't much to this museum. It is still a working post office, which is kind of cool, it is right in the middle of the action so it is easy to identify and pop in for a visit. The fee is a little steep for what you get and the layout of the exhibits is kind of confusing... More

The GPO is an iconic building due to its pivotal role in the 1916 uprising. It is a functioning general post office and should be regarded as such. It is certainly worth while visiting but only if you have a keen interest in modern Irish history.

I visited the GPO in 2016 (August) since it was the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the Irish fight for independence in the 20th century. While unsuccessful the bravery exemplified by the Irish freedom fighters lit a prairie fire eventually leading to Irish Independence from England. The exhibit features photos, maps and movies. Also, the GPO has a very... More

The GPO was the center of the 1916 Easter Rising. To the Irish it is their Alamo but is still a fully working post office. The building is built on a grand scale & has that old time feeling to it. You can buy stamps, pay bills and visit the new 1916 exhibit. When I was visiting it was fully... More
