I went here on the recommendation of an Aussie (who was living in Dublin at the time) because he said it was authentic and not touristy like the bars in Temple Bar. I'm so glad I took his advice! I had a smashing time, drinking pints, chatting and laughing with locals, and of course listening to trad music. Service was... More

What a great pub in the middle of town. As a tourist, it was exactly what I was hoping for for my first ever pint in Ireland. Great tender and a fun place to talk with locals. We were laughing the entire time.

Called in for a couple. Lots of photos on walls, toilets very basic, but staff welcoming. Close to St Stephens park

We had so much fun. The pub was packed I mean it was literally standing room only. The traditional Irish music was top notch. I stood there amazed at them for ages. O'donoghues was everything we were looking for in an Irish pub.

We stopped in here a couple of times during our Dublin visit. It was always crowded with locals, yet we felt welcome and enjoyed some good conversations. Despite the crowds it was easy to hook up with a Guinness and find a seat in one of the many rooms. Known for its association with The Dubliners, we were told this... More

One of our guides told us to try this pub for a real feel of an Irish pub. We were going to go for dinner - note: they only serve ham and cheese sandwiches - this is for drinking! I probably wouldn't have done a review except it was by far and away the BEST Irish coffee I have ever... More

Do not miss this place if you are visiting Dublin. The beer flows freely, the traditional music is uplifting and the history of O'Donoghue's Bar is second to none. O'Donoghue's was recommended by an Irish relative who is a musician and has close links to The Dubliners. One wish my family and I had was to sit in a pub... More

We stopped in On December 30 and it was very crowded due to the holidays. We found a few seats in the back-a very old bar with character not far from St. Stephen's Green.

Really friendly pub, music on a lot of the time. Great bar staff. Busy but doesnt feel quite as touristy as the other city bars.
