The organised tour was extremely informative and interesting. We had a convict in the family who had been interred in the gaol before being transported to Australia. It was enlightening seeing where he had been and what the conditions were like in the 1800's. Also learning about the Irish Rebellion was amazing and sobering at the same time. Well worth... More

When we enquired in the Tourist Office the online bookings for the days we were in Dublin were full. They suggested we turn up on spec, as the Gaol holds back some tickets for people that turn up at the site. Fortunately we took their advice and were fortunate to get in - but only just. It was a very... More

Fantastic, best tour ever. Learnt more about Irish history in a morning than ever before. Tour guides brilliant, very informative and would advise anyone visiting Dublin not to miss this attraction.

The tour wasn't quite as expected as it felt a little rushed by the guide and there wasn't much information given. He seemed to get annoyed when people asked questions. But other people have said that their tour, with a different guide, was really good. So I would still suggest visiting as I still enjoyed looking around.

Touring this centuries old facility sent shivers down my spine. Inmates here suffered what seemed to be intolerable conditions

Easy to find, but a little way out of the city. Our tour guide was great and I wasn't expecting the museum attached to be so thorough but it was actually super interesting - we spent another hour there after the tour! Really not to be missed - don't forget to book online in advance to be sure to get... More
