Christ Church Cathedral is one of Dublin's oldest buildings, a leading visitor attraction and a place of pilgrimage for almost 1,000 years. Famous for its breathtaking beauty, magnificent architectural features and wonderful floor tiles, Christ Church is also popular as a venue and is host to many high profile concerts throughout the year. It is home to the tomb of Strongbow, leader of the Normans, who captured Dublin in 1170. The Medieval Crypt, one of the largest in Britain and Ireland, extends under the entire Cathedral and contains The Mummified cat and rat, trapped in the organ in the 1860s.

Guided tours, including the belfry, available up to five times a day Monday to Saturday.

If you want a beautiful scenery at an old church, this is the place to be. Beautiful music plays while you admire the stained glass windows and check out the downstairs to see the tombs.

A bit of confusion with the timing of services, but once inside, the crypt is interesting and the bell tower tour very fun. Nice grounds too.

We made it with 10 minutes to spare for the final tour and we were not disappointed. The guide was very engaging and informative. Ringing the bells was definitely a highlight of the trip.

We visited Christ Church on our last morning in Dublin and it was very quiet. The Cathedral is stunning and has a wonderful history. I particularly enjoyed the crypt.

This was by far one of the best tours in Dublin. Our guide was fabulous. Our tour was informational and filled with facts along with humor. We were allowed to ring the bells in the tower which was amazing to the children in our party. We did have a guest that repeatedly answered her phone and drowned out the tour... More

The history of the church and the architecture is well worth the visit. This is the first time I have been in a building this old and it was amazing. The crypt in the basement was also very informative and has a nice little spot to have a cup of coffee.

This is a beautiful cathedral with an interesting history but the best part is the crypt where you learn the history in a cool, quiet environment that really sets a mood. I enjoyed the video presentation; it answered a lot of questions.

This Cathedral is beautiful inside. Lots of interesting things to see if you like this kind of thing! You can also go down into the Crypt to have a look. The very interesting Dublinia attraction is also next door to this cathedral.

Christ Church was beautiful, but I wouldn't recommend waiting for one of the guided tours, as the signage is good. My favorite part was the crypt downstairs. It was super interesting and there were lots pf beautiful treasures.
