The reopening of the tower is the cherry on the cake. Take a guided tour and see the graves of the famous (and infamous) or stroll around recognising famous names from history. It's a great way to spend a few hours.

It’s a unique experience - makes one contemplate the unknown, reflect on one’s mortality and admire those who have gone before. Burial sure for a million and a half - above and below ground.

While most of the people here are dead, it is the place to meet the Irish heroes. But even if you're not into history, walking through the grounds that are home to 1.5 million (dead) Dubliners, will give you a break from the hustle and...More

The history was just oozing from this place and a very informative and eye opening visit. Not a macabre visit in the slightest and a very (dare I say) relaxing and poignant place to visit. Strolled around at my leisure.

After hearing from a local about Glasnevin, we knew that we had to make the trip. Upon arrival, we got our ticket and walked to the top of the O'Connell Monument, which gave you a great view of the area. We then finished by touring...More

We booked a "Combi History Tour", meaning that we went on the guided history tour and were able to climb to the top of the Daniel O'Connell Tower, with the one ticket. We are extremely interested in Irish history, ancient on up to the 1916...More

Our tour guide Irial gave us a 90 minute tour. He was very informative and made what could have been a dry and boring history lesson into a fascinating glimpse into Irish political history. Highly recommended.

I've been for a couple of tours here, and the guides are always amazing. The museum is interesting too. Worth a visit for a themed tour.

Well it depends when you’re going but, yes, you can join a tour when you arrive. I would advise though pre-booking.

Yes it is. Many lanes are paved and others are gravel. The cafe, shopping and toilets are all on one level
