Glasnevin Cemetery and Museum are both the guardians and storytellers for over 1.5 million people. From the ordinary to the truly extraordinary, these people helped shape the Ireland of today. We want to share their stories and times with you through tours of the cemetery, a visit to the museum or through a genealogy search for your family history. We are a not-for-profit organisation and all proceeds are used to sustain and improve our cemeteries to ensure they are places of beauty, interest and intrigue.

Very historic place. You can wonder through it for several hours and pick up a lot of Irish history along the way.

I was a bit apprehensive of doing a tour around a graveyard on a very cold day. I’m so glad I did. I’ve always loved Irish history (favourite subject at school). Niall our tour guide was exceptionally entertaining. He was so passionate about the history...More

The Tour Guides bring the stories behind Glasnevin Cemetery alive - even thought the weather was terrible the day we visited - no-one left the tour for shelter - a sign of an engaged audience.

The tour of Glasnevin Cemetery was the highlight of our visit to Dublin. Our guide Christopher was most informative during the 90-minute tour and provided much interesting background information of the many historic leaders of Ireland and the 1916 Easter Rising rebels who are buried...More

Is great and they do a good tour. Join that if you are really interested. The museum itself is ok, but only worth it combined with a tour.

I'd say not. The tour is quite long and probably not very interesting for the average 10 year old. Perhaps the shop staff at Glasnevin could suggest some interesting headstones to visit instead and you could make your own... More
