This was our first Irish site to visit - it should not be missed. You cannot photo in the Book of Kells Exhibit, but the Library is rich with old manuscripts and a shelving organization you have to see to believe.

Thank you for your review. We are delighted you enjoyed your visit to the Exhibition and the magnificent Old Library. For conservation reasons, it's not possible to take photos in the Exhibition. We hope you took away great memories of your visit.

Excellent tour of both the Book of Kells and the old library. Also a very good gift store. Buy tickets on line for quicker service. If you get there before your time, they will still let you in.

Well laid out exhibit with a ton of info. Got to see four actual books (two pocket Bibles/books and two gospels from the Book of Kells, open to different pages each day). Most interesting for me though was the library ("The Long Room") with its...More

The book itself is only open to a couple of pages but the museum around it is superb. Displays show how it was made and tells about the era when it was made. Access is pretty easy but it's worth buying tickets online. The library...More

I have visited the Book of Kells three times with college students. We usually breeze through it pretty fast and most of them do not really take the time to understand the significance of the books.

Book of Kells and old library exhibits were outstanding. True awe inspiring stuff here. The library simply blew me away. Definitely a must see. It's worth the wait in line if you haven't purchased tickets yet.

I do not remember seeing a cloak room, or lockers anywhere. They also don't have any space to put it somewhere behind the counter. Best to go luggage free.
