Drimnagh Caste is Ireland's only moated castle. Set in the suburb of Drimnagh in South Dublin, we are an authentic medieval castle with over 700 years of history. We have been the setting for many films, TV shows and historic events.
The restoration project should be supported so much more. The moat should also be looked after especially for the resident ducks. The castle is smaller than the likes of Blarney or Kilkenny but that doesn't take from it. Would love to see the herbs in...More
We were lucky because even though we'd just missed a tour starting they arranged for one just for us to save us waiting around. Richard (I think) was really informative and a good laugh.

Probably the best €5 you can spend in Dublin. A brilliant restoration of the castle and gardens. The tour guide ( Denise?) was a mine of information on the history of the castle and the restoration project. Would highly recommend a visit.
For 5 euros we got a great tour. We were the only ones there and the guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and informative. It's a really cool little tucked away location. Definitely worth the bus ride out from the city center.
Absolutely loved this little castle and gardens. If you want to see what it might have been like living in fourteen and fifteenth century Ireland, make sure to visit Drimnaugh Castle. Its recent renovation reignited life into the original structures giving us a glimpse into...More
My wife and I took the Number 123 Bus from ChristChurch directly to the Drimnagh Castle (You will need to tell the Driver your destination). The bus stop is across the street from the Long Mile Inn. The Castle entrance is down the Main Street...More
