I really liked this church. We went to a 3 PM weekday mass and walked around afterwards. There is a massive organ up in the front. And, there are many, many shrines (all listed on their website). There are a number of interesting side altars. Perhaps, the most famous and most visited is the altar to St. Vincent, for which there are some relics.

My boyfriend took me here on Saturday as we were sightseeing in Dublin. He told me all about the remains of St valentine being here then dropped to his knee and proposed!! Its a beautiful old church and now its got extra special meaning to us. We will visit here every time we are in Dublin.

Attended Sunday mass on our trip to Dublin and got to see this magnificent Church.
The shrine of St Valentine is here too. Its well worth the visit for lots of reasons.

You have to see this church. It is deceiving from the outside, but when you step inside and see the beautiful sanctuary, the many saints that are honored in the church, and the relics of St. Valentine, you are awe struck. The church also has a rare black Madonna over the altar, which is quite stunning. Lovely stained glass windows.

Take a brief stroll from St Stephen's Green to visit the WhiteFriar Church. The church is small, but it is really beautiful inside and it is the home to relics of St. Valentine. It is just a few minutes stroll from either Grafton Street or St. Stephen's Green and is well-worth the time to visit. Your visit will not necessarily be here long because the church is relatively small, but the sculptures, statues, altar pieces, and relics make it well-worth it.

This is a real Catholic church, not a tourist destination and there are worshippers there praying at all times so courtesy and discretion is necessary. It is quite nice inside with a beautiful large altar to Mother Mary to your right as you come in. Further on around that side, almost to the front is the altar to St. Valentine which contains the reliquary with his bones. Be sure to read the brass translation of the letter from the Vatican transferring his body to Ireland (to the upper left of the altar). A most interesting piece of history.

A church rich in visual appeal with Catholic altars, candles, relics, and some historical displays. St. Valentine's reliquary is stirring and historically compelling, as is the fact that the Carmelite presence on this site dates back to 1279. Archbishop Fulton Sheen in 1973 preached here a novena on St. Thérèse of Lisieux, the Little Flower, which became the basis of his book on this saint. Mother Thresa spoke here. New to me was the altar to and display about Carmelite Blessed Titus Brandsma, a Dutch priest martyred by the Nazis at Dachau in 1942. There are six Sunday and five weekday masses at this church, plus daily confessions both morning and afternoons. It is definitely not one of Europe's empty and unused old churches.

A very Irish Catholic Church, with just the right level of 'kitsch' to be attractive with the added attractions of the medieval statue of the Virgin and the relics of St Valentine - with a book to write smooch words about your love life. I never fail to visit every time I visit Dublin, and I'm no Catholic.

Difficult to locate, but still within walking distance of Temple Bar. Lovely old church with the obligatory & delightful little gift shop, if one is so disposed. Went to visit this church as this is the only, other than in an 11th Century Church at Rockamadour France, that has a Black Madonna. Was lucky the visit coincided with a service, gave the experience a spiritual feel.

A beautiful Carmelite Church in the centre Of Dublin,within the walls of which is a very rich spiritual history. Beautiful stained glass windows telling many stories, a lovely altar backed by an impressive organ, and of course the shrine containing the relics of St Valatine a very popular pilgrimage site all year round and particularly February 14th, for married,engaged or young people in love. Church has regular religious services throughout the day. A nice coffee shop is also within the church.
