Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had lunch there recently and was very disappointed
Service was poor and I had to go and ask for my meal despite being assured it would be delivered. When it did arrive it was lukewarm and the portion was meagre. A small side salad came without dressing and none was offered
Pricey too. We left hungry
Not good enough least of all for a national museum

located a little out from Dublin city, is the most beautiful structure and ground, built in the late 1600's it was a home for retired veterans/soldiers, these days in is home to modern arts museums and holds cultural events within the grounds, definitely a must see.

These Gardens are in the grounds of the beautiful Royal Hospital Kilmainham. They are behind and below a small stone wall so almost easy to miss. These gardens and the IMMA are really worth a visit - especially if you are in the area for a Kilmainham Gaol visit.

We went to see Leonard Cohen's concert in the grounds of IMMA - however, it had not been made clear that the concert would be OUTDOORS! It was freezing! - especially for those of us who had never attended this venue before, and were, subsequently, inappropriately dressed for it.

Very well organised venue with good directions for extensive parking. Warm and inviting especially at this time of year with Christmas lights and decorations. He pantomime is held in the dome this year and it’s a great location. Only three toilet cubicles but they are clean and well organised. Helpful staff, good bar and lots of goodies like popcorn and candy floss to be had.

The Royal Kilmainham Hospital was Ireland's 'Chelsea Hospital' for army veterans for nearly 250 years (it was actually founded before its Chelsea cousin). Today it houses the Irish Museum of Modern Art, but we went to see the Hospital. The remaining rooms - the Chapel and Great Hall - are being restored, but in the meantime there is an excellent exhibition on the history of and life in the hospital. The grounds include a couple of cemeteries with irregular opening arrangements, the long walk where the veterans too their exercise, and a delightful formal garden with alleys, fountains and flowers - a lovely place to spend a fine afternoon.

Whilst my husband was mountain biking outside of Dublin, I walked across the street (staying at the Hilton) to visit this museum. I was fascinated by the burial grounds surrounding the property. I primarily wanted to see the gardens which were absolutely lovely, even though the skies opened up with rain when I was admiring the roses.

There are paid exhibits one can access, but I just visited the free collections which explain the history of the Royal Hospital. I also checked out the cafe to warm up with a delicious cup of cappuccino.

If you're in the area, the Royal Hospital Kilmainham is worth a visit.

We stopped here on the hop on hop off bus and the conductor said it wasn’t worth it, but we decided to hop off anyway. We had lunch in the restaurant which was lovely a fresh home cooked food. We then walked around the grounds which were lovely a peaceful. You can walk through the grounds to the jail and pick the bus back up their. All well looked after and free to visit.

We were here for 2 concerts over the Heineken Live 2014 shows. The venue was easy access (we got a taxi), and the police were stopping vehicles that were leaving people off nearly at the door, so there was not much of a walk. On the first evening, it had started to rain heavily, so we didn't get the best view, however, I was really impressed with the concert setting. It was a great view to the stage wherever in the area you were. I was also very impressed with the fact that despite the pouring rain, the ground didn't seem to get too muddy.
On our second venture, two nights later, I was expecting muddy ground, given there had been another concert the night before, so the grass was getting a bit of a hammering from the weather and many feet. Not the case. Luckily for us this time, the sun was shining, and we were there earlier in the day, so got to appreciate the beauty of the venue.
Another good thing is that it is within walking distance to Temple Bar where we were able to go for a drink afterward.
I would love to come back for a proper visit to just potter about and appreciate the grounds, and definitely will make a point of doing this next time that I'm in Dublin.
