The pub, the poet and the pint. In Dublin, they seem to be inseparable. The public house is where writers sharpened their wit. This two hour walking tour is led by a team of professional actors who follow in the footsteps of James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Oscar Wilde, Brendan Behan and many others. You will hear renditions of prose, verse, drama and song from Dublin's literary hall of fame. The evening is packed with entertainment and also includes a quiz with prizes for the winners. As one critic wrote: 'A highly enjoyable evening that gives you the pleasant notion of replacing brain cells as you drown them'. Check our website for further details and to book online.

This is one of my favorite activities in Dublin. I've done the tour twice - in 2005 and 2015, and loved it both times. It brings in history, literature, great pubs, humor and wonderful conviviality. The trivia questions along the way add another level of fun. I highly recommend this activity . . . Colm and company are great!

Great night exploring a little of Dublin. Was worried I wouldn't know enough about Irish literature to enjoy it, but happy to repot...I was wrong. The "professors" were great

We arrived in Dublin for the first time and this was a great way to start our visit. We were thoroughly entertained and educated too. A walk around part of the city, taking in 4 pubs en route (all of which were good) and learning about the literary history of Dublin in a really fun way

A fun evening brought to you by two thespians that act out and recreate scenes written by famous authors of Dublin & Ireland. And delightful stories they are! Started at 7pm and went until 9:30pm. The only drawback for us in particular was we hadn't had dinner but we rounded out our evening with the other pub crawlsters at the... More

The Literary Pub Crawl was one of the last touristy things we did before flying home to Canada. What a wonderful wonderful evening! A group of about 25 of us met up in a private room at the Duke Pub, where two talented and funny gentlemen entertained us right off the bat with a scene from “Waiting for Godot,” and... More

I had been recommended to go on this tour, and, with many reservations, booked to go. I expected an arty-farty evening of dry drama and increasingly drunk punters, but genuinely, it was excellent. We were greeted at The Duke and immediately the entertainment began. The tour visits 3 other pubs, Trinity college & the statue of Molly Malone and ends... More

Meeting in the pub The Duke we were treated to songs, poems and play sketches. Then escorted around Dublin to important places that were connected to literary giants of Dublin. 3 more pubs were visited where we searched for clues for our quiz and had a drink. Each time we were told stories, facts and plays from famous Irish writers.... More

Learned (and more importantly, successfully recalled after several pints of Guinness) lots of trivia, watched the actors perform entertaining scenes from several literary works and comment on several more, got on well with the tour leaders and other punters, and had a very good evening's entertainment. Despite getting soaked on the walk from penultimate to ultimate pub - I swear... More
