    Best pub in Dublin
Best pub in Dublin. Another pub cancelled on our private event last minute. The manager, Richie, saved the day. He could not have been kinder and more accommodating. We rented one of the private rooms in the pub for the night and our guests, who were from all over the world, had the time of their lives. Service was impeccable. We ordered lots of platters of food which was delicious. Best pint of Guinness in Dublin. Thanks to everyone in Doyle’s and we can’t wait to come back!

    Good for conversation
What makes a good pub is an interesting question. On a short trip to Dublin we sampled 5or 6 - memory a little hazy on precise number. This was the one we enjoyed most and stayed in the longest. Can’t say the Guinness was any better than the others but was a bit cheaper and, more importantly, we enjoyed the atmosphere more. Relaxed, unpretentious and slightly scruffy - we felt quite at home which says as much about us as it does about it. Though packed ( we held onto our table and stools valiantly ) and lively, the noise level did not interfere with conversation which is probably the answer to my initial query - see above. Did note the unhappy bar person mentioned in another review but the rest of the crew were cheerful and helpful. Recommend

    €7.20 a pint of Guinness
Nice pub but €7.20 for a pint of Guinness is absolute price gouging. This is not a fancy pub in temple bar to be charging those prices. 5 star hotels charge less even! Nice spot other than that.

Great food and drinks in a typical Irish pub
My son & I stopped by here on the off chance one weekday evening recently. The place was relatively quiet and the friendly guy behind the bar (Rich) suggested that we find ourselves a table and then he would take our drinks and food order. I had to have a Guinness of course while my son went for a pint of Rockshore cider. For our evening meal, I went for the fish and chips. The fish was huge & delicious and the chips were really tasty. Certainly the best that we had during our stay in Dublin. My son went for the honey glazed ham & cheese sandwich with extra chips. I downed my Guinness so quickly that I needed another pint. Rich suggested that I try a pint of O'Hara's Irish red beer which was also great. Our bill came to just under 60€ which wasn't bad considering the portions here. I would say that this place was what I would typically expect from a good quality but modest Irish pub. Nothing overly fancy thank goodness - just good food, drinks and a friendly smile. Thoroughly recommended!

I attended a booked event on 3rd of May. A friend of mine had booked part of the upstairs area for a number of people to celebrate her birthday. As the night went on and people began arriving the bouncer at the door began to refuse entry to everyone trying to come to the party. When the bouncer was questioned by the birthday girl who had booked and paid for these people to attend the bouncer began to shout profanity’s at her ultimately ruining the whole night she had paid for!!!!!! I do not recommend this place at all, absolute waste of money.

i was in the pub and saw a girl drop her glass on the stairs, my natural reaction was to step in and try to caution others from stepping on the glass, as i did this i got kicked out by a specific bouncer called jack, he clearly had a power trip and abused his power. I am generally quite fair with bouncers and understanding, but tonight i didn’t do anything wrong and I tried to explain what had happened but they refused to listen, Jack kicked me straight out and was only letting pretty girls back in, (they said i couldn’t go back in cause they were closing).I understand it sounds like a random drunk guy typing this but i am currently stood outside and it had ruined my night.they had a clear bias and it genuinely ruined my night because i got disconnected from the rest of my team. my honest opinion is that they don’t serve people based on age or anything along those lines but more based on accents and how someone looks

The grey middle aged man behind the bar might be the most miserable bartender I've ever been served a pint from. Clearly hates his job. Hopefully he can find happiness one day.

Sitting enjoying a beer, turned away and beer was taken away. Complained to staff who became very aggressive and told me I was “cheeky” I left straight away. As we left young bartender began sarcastically catcalling us. So disappointing and disrespectful.

People were lovely and kind. Good drinks! The kitchen was closed so we only had drinks. Would go back again.

Decent pint of Guinness in here. Bar staff were a bit overwhelmed with all of the people trying to order but were friendly.
