Quirky, olde worlde pub restaurant with great lunches

Very quirky pub / restaurant - long and narrow with tons of character. You can enter the Phoenix Park right next to the HITW main entrance. It's just a 10 minutes walk from... read more

I was here again last week having sworn I wouldn't come back after my last experience here in Jaunuary while on a date. At that time the service was atrociously slow. The food was stodgy and not worth its price point. Waited 25 mins at the time for main course. Didn't order starters. When I ordered dessert...I finally got it... More

Very quirky pub / restaurant - long and narrow with tons of character. You can enter the Phoenix Park right next to the HITW main entrance. It's just a 10 minutes walk from Dublin Zoo. Service is slow but lunch is lovely and very good value for money - 2 course lunch is €20 and the foods delicious. The slow... More

Was here on Sunday after a walk in the park. Amazing Christmas decorations, a real winter wonderland. Had some tapas and wasn't impressed. Have eaten here before and the food isn't great and it's not good value for money. Had some hot chocolates that were just OK as well. Will not be back for food.

The best place to get the Xmas spirit. It is so beautifully decorated and you feel like you are visiting Santa's home. The staff is very nice and attentive, wine is at incredibly attractive price. We ordered a stuffed aubergine with a giant cous cous, it was ok, no wow effect but nice. The place is packed so it's a... More

We recently had a drink at The Hole in the Wall pub as it was just around the corner from where we were staying. We were looking for a quick and inexpensive meal. Unfortunately the prices were rather high (not your typical fare) and the food was more upmarket than what we wanted. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. We... More

Had dinner here with two other couples after a long walk through the park. It was so good it inspired me to write my first-ever review on TripAdvisor. We spent probably three hours over drinks and dinner and never felt rushed. The Sunday night roast gammon was amazing. We also had several of the tapas items, all of which were... More

As a long time customer of this establishment it gives me no satisfaction to say that food has been average at best here for a long time. The fish and chips here some years ago now was the best i ever had in my life.Thats why its actually sad to say that a once great experience is reduced to the mainstream.Atmosphere... The Hole in the Wall Pub is a magical place to visit at Christmas. The decorations are absolutely amazing and there was a wonderful atmosphere - nice open fire. Could have stayed there all day. Definitely must go back some time for a meal.
