Great way to spend an hour with my wife and 8 year old. We all thoroughly enjoyed it! I’ve lived in Dublin for 20 years and learned lots from the guide that I didn’t know! Darragh was funny and very informative. I would highly recommend!

Loved my trip down the Liffey in surprisingly sunny weather. The route is the same on the way and way back but it doesn't stop the views being impressive. Even though the boats are covered you still see lots and can take many pictures. Book as they get busy, we had planned on doing this on Day 2 of our trip but ended up doing it on the last day. The tours were full for our originally planned day. All the sights of the trip were impressive but I liked Dublin Dock the most.

We visited the Jeanie Johnston and we really enjoyed the tour.
Gearòid, our guide was very informative and made the tour enjoyable and interesting.
He was happy to answer questions that my daughter had about the ship, so she was happy.
We will recommend this tour to others and may visit again if we have overseas visitors again.
Thank you.

On our particular cruise we were the last ones to board, so we ended up in the seats that no one else wanted - at the very front of the cabin where the view in front of us was a wall, and the view to our left was half a window. Our seats offered a restricted view compared to others who'd paid the same price. We felt cheated. It's worth noting that the passenger cabin is fully enclosed, and on our cruise (which coincided with a hot day) the air was stifling. To add to the misery, we had the family from hell behind us who wouldn't shut-up and stop playing with their phones. The cruise company really should have had the balls to step-in and tell them out of respect to others to be quiet. On a positive note, the young lady who gave the commentary was rather good. She offered some interesting facts and opinions as a Dubliner. But at the end of the day, our experience wasn't a good one and we were glad to step-off the boat at the end. Had we been in any other seats, had there been some fresh air and had the hideous family been quiet - then this probably would have been an average or very good rating.

Dear Friendly UK Traveller, Thank you for your review. We are delighted that you enjoyed the commentary on board but very concerned that you had such an unsatisfactory experience, due to the combination of issues that you mentioned. We are investigating what went wrong with the air conditioning yesterday; and in view of the disruption that you suffered from the other guests (we have never had such a complaint before and will reflect with the team on how best they can handle such situations) we would be delighted to offer you a complimentary tour if you have the time to join us again. Do please contact me at info@dublindiscovered.ie if that would be of interest. Warm Regards Orla and the Dublin Discovered Team

I did this river cruise on Monday, 12 Aug 2019 @ 2:15 PM. It was billed as a 45 minute cruise. We left late (at 2:24 PM) and arrived early at 2:56 PM. It was actually a 32 minute river cruise. I asked the captain (Brenden, pictured below) why it was billed as a 45 minute cruise and only lasted 32 minutes and his reply was that it included the safety talk. Hey, it didn't say cruise and safety talk 45 minutes , it said the cruise was 45 minutes. Besides his saftety talk was no more than 3 minutes. With the safety talk it still doesn't come to 45 minutes. Other issues, 1) the boat was full so singles that boarded first took a seat by themselves and couples that boarded later had to split up to sit with the singles and 2) the frontal view of the seats up front were totally obscured by the bulkheads. It probably would not be a good activity on a hot day as the interior of the boat would heat up due to lack of ventilation and the ceiling windows. Now the lady that gave the narration was excellent. If it wasn't for her my rating would have been a 1. The cost was €15 per adult and €13 per senior. I thought it was a little over priced for what you got.

Dear travel1948, Thank you for your review. We were delighted that you found our narrative to be excellent but we were very surprised and concerned to receive your comments about the duration of the tour. We are committed to delivering the advertised tour, including the advertised duration of 45 minutes and have rarely had a complaint on this issue. We would be happy to offer you a discount on a future trip or on our Jeanie Johnston tour, to make up for this disappointment. Please contact me at info@dublindiscovered.ie if this is of interest. I look forward to hearing from you. Warm regards, Orla

The Liffy River boat cruise may be an interesting attraction, but they do not follow their own posted departure schedule. In the morning on the day we wished to take the cruise, we checked their website at:
http://www.liffeyrivercruises.com/
I noted that their the web page showing the cruise departure schedule did not have a phone number to call, but one could purchase one's tickets on-line. That would have been a BIG MISTAKE! I am very glad that we did not.
We followed their schedule and we were at the dock at Custom's House Quay at the posted departure time, only to watch the boat motor down the river right passed us! I could have easily thrown a beer bottle and hit the captain's windshield - it was only 12 feet away!
Since there was no attendant or ticket booth at Customs Quay, there was no one to ask. We decided to get some lunch. Eventually we walked the quarter mile up the river to their other departure point and found a ticket booth at Bachelors Walk Quay just before 2 PM. I recalled that they had a 2:15 departure, so we tried to take it. When I spoke to the agent at the window and told her our earlier problem, she assured me that I had looked at the wrong schedule, one that must have been outdated. I told her flat out that she was wrong and that I had looked at their posted schedule that morning on the website. She really didn't seem to believe me that their posted schedule was incorrect. Then I asked about taking the 2:15 departure. I was told that there was indeed a 2:15 PM departure, but it would be leaving a quarter mile down the river at the Custom's House Quay! It was now shortly after 2 PM, so that was it, we were not going to run a quarter mile down the sidewalk to catch the boat.
When we returned back to the apartment, I checked on-line again. Someone had edited the departure page postings for the day. The change they added now specified today's date, the very day that all this confusion took place. However, the departure times and departure locations had not changed - it was the very set that caused the confusion and frustration for us. We WERE AT the specified departure quays at the correct times for both posted sailings, only to have the boat leave form the other quay at each instance!
We have a few days left in Dublin, but are not going to attempt this attraction again. I would recommend that one SHOULD NOT prepay the tickets on-line. The discount from the prices posted at the ticket both are not a substantial savings. Worse, you could easily end up with a ticket that you cannot figure out how to use.
Again, this may be an interesting tourist attraction, but it was nothing but an exercise in frustration in trying to catch the boat!

First 2 minutes of the tour was OK.
Daryl the guide clearly had a bad day that day.
My partner was sat in the seat infront of me ( as there was were no seats leave in twos ) and he turned around & asked me if I was ok.
Daryl shouted down the microphone / speakers at him to shut up.. when he was stood next to him, for talking & told him to sit straight like he was some sort of 5 year old child.
When everyone else was talking on the boat & shouting whilst he was talking!
Then a lady got up and he shouted at her really abruptly too.
If you don’t like your job, get another one.
We paid to have a nice day, not to be shouted at through a microphone.
It’s embarrassing & not needed.
He definitely made a few of us feel uncomfortable after that.
Then he went up to the driver & told him to keep an eye on my partner so he didn’t talk? Whilst he made his way to the back of the boat.
If you want to have a voice .. my suggestion would be to not go on this boat ride.

The river cruise was fine. A comfortable boat that left on time. Clear safety instructions by the captain. And a good guided overview of what we were seeing. Because Dublin is not that big I had already seen most of the sights but it would be a good introduction to what you can see from the river.

This boat trip gives you an excellent overview and coverage of Dublin and Irish culture. It is very entertaining as the MC's personality is very funny. Additionally, he remembers which country you come from (asking you as you enter) and refers to your country, during his commentary, at least once during the boat tour.

We found this trip gave a great overview of buildings and the layout of Dublin, together with the people stories that make up the culture in this beautiful city. There is nothing really attractive about the actual River Liffey, but the cruise is A+ for entertainment value.
