The Monday Echo is a songwriter and spoken showcase every Monday night....

The Monday Echo is a songwriter and spoken showcase every Monday night. Each week, a different line up of about 7 local artists perform short sets of their own work. The night takes place in a traditional pub setting with no microphones or amplification. This "listening venue" makes it possible to hear every detail in the music and voices. The show happens every Monday in the basement of the Mezz bar in the heart of Dublin's Temple Bar district. The audience can reach the candlelit basement venue via a series of corridors and back stairs. Best to ask for directions at the main bar.

The Monday Echo is an intimate, acoustic, candlelit night of musicians, spoken word artists and other performers every Monday night downstairs in The Mezz Bar, Temple Bar, Dublin. Organised and MC'd by Aidan, Punk, and Shauna, this is always a magical mixture of the most remarkable talent around. I have come away from this fantastic night moved, energised and enthralled by... Walked in to the ground floor bar, which was packed. Asked if there was anywhere I could sit to eat dinner ( chose their lovely Irish stew). I was sent downstairs, which is where the live acoustic music happens - but it didn't start until about 20:25. The MC was very clear - turn off your mobile phones, and NO... More

By coincidence we ended up in the cellar of The International Bar. This turned out to be The Monday Echo. What a surprise! We heard and saw some fabulous musicians. A great place if you like acoustic music in a friendly atmosphere that allow the audience to interact with the artists.

This night showcases original music and poetry and is without doubt one of Dublin's best. There is a nice mix of musicians, poets, scholars, travellers and passers by who drop in to experience the warm atmosphere. Be it the depths of winter or the height of Summer, The Monday Echo is a hip place to be. There isn't any amplification,... More

The Monday Echo is a weekly event that goes on in the International Bar every Monday (as the name might suggest) beginning at 7 and going on till 10:30 (ish) It showcases many fabulous local acts as well as some international ones and caters to both lovers of word and music. It is an entirely acoustic set up (by choice)... More

I've been both an attendee and a performer at this event more times than I could count, and just can't say enough good things about it. Well organised, wonderful crowd, bar staff are lovely and accommodating, and the MC is a legend. Only complaint is that due to the great attendance, it is often difficult to find a seat, but... The best place in Dublin to be on a Monday night. An actually, honest to god intimate venue (you're practically sitting on the stage) where you can just hear exciting poets and musicians in real life. For aspiring performers it's the safest, most welcoming space in Dublin try out your stuff in front of a crowd. The stew's pretty good... More

A truly eclectic mix of all things weird and wonderful, this weekly acoustic night boasts the entire spectrum from supreme talent to extreme characters. Hosted with endless patience, tact and good humour, the night starts with a showcase of singers/spoken word performers and finishes up with an open mic section where anything can happen. More diversity than a box of... More

For anyone looking for a night that is truly Dublin. This is it. A home to new and old voices, a way to start each new week with dreams in your eyes. There are a lot of poetry/songwriter type nights in Dublin. But none like this. None that will sit in your heart longer. None that will haunt you or revisit... More
