    What a great experience
Was a fantastic place. Visited with two grandchildren plus 4 adults. All of us were impressed by the selection of fish and exhibits on display. We were there for feeding time and the young lady was very knowledgeable and explained everything to us and answered questions. A definite must visist

    A Hidden gem in Galway
The Atlantaquaria was a nice surprise in West Galway. We stumbled across it as we were walking the waterfront from the Latin Quarter in downtown Galway. It was priced very well, and the conditions inside are very well-maintained. We learned a lot about the local sea life, and Local environment. The interpretive displays are very well-maintained, and highly educational. The property is very easily accessible, and ideal for families of all generations.

    Wonderful place for kids!
Our family (boys 9 and 12 yr) really enjoyed the visit. We walked from Galway along the water. Worth spending 1 h ! It was also a nice place to get out of the elements. Plenty of fish to keep them busy.

Excellent location with amazing view of the Bay. Lot of area to walk across at the bay. Lot of eating joints behind it and easy access to all means of transport.

This is a relatively small aquarium but the exhibits are well organised, with interesting information. Over two levels there is a lift to improve accessibility. A good display on the impact of weirs on riverine fish and a display on Galway Hooker boats which was unexpected and worth looking at. We didn’t have young children with us but it seemed an especially good activity for children.

A great place, we took our 3.5 year old and his year old and we all had a great time! Lots to see, the experience took us just over an hour and was a great rainy day activity, thank you!

Aquarium is excellent - wonderful range of aquatic life for all ages. Avoid gift shop - absolute rip off. Items are not priced so there will be a shock at the till.

Hi soberb2023, thanks for the review can we ask to review again as the Gift Shop is a separate business from the Aquarium. Only if you have the time, as we would like a review from your Aquarium experience which looked great. Garry

Depressing, completely overpriced and masquerading as an animal conservation effort, I mean there is a big wall in there giving a big lecture about how long plastic takes to biodegrade in the oceans which is placed about 10 feet from the gift shop which is full to over flowing with.....plastic crap, way overpriced and depressing, the real ocean is just outside save yourself some cash and appreciate that instead........ avoid this place

Hi snoop2808, We do appreciate your feedback. The Aquarium has a goal to educate the public about marine litter and conservation. We also host a number of beach cleans throughout the year. The Gift Shop is a seperate business from the Aquarium. Garry

We were on a weekend getaway in Galway and since it was raining we went here for an indoor activity.
There were really cool fish and a good variety of other sea life with interesting facts about them. The one way system made sure you actually saw everything so I though the layout was really good.
We did enjoy the experience, however I personally found it slightly expensive for the time we spend walking around, about 35 minutes, (14 euro per adult) you would probably take longer if you had kids with you. But that being said, I do understand that the costs of running this place and feeding the animals have to be covered.

Hi Travel3owaw, Thanks for the review we really appreciate your feedback. Our admission fee is linked to our memberships of both BIAZA & EAZA. We have to ensure our Animal Welfare meets the high standards of a professional Zoo & Aquarium. So we have always tried to balance that with the visitor experience. Garry
