- Des K7 contributionsTop Class ☆☆☆☆☆We were here for my Mother's Birthday. Fresh Irish Seafood cooked to perfection and presented Beautifully. Black Sole, John Dory, Cod , Scallops to name a few. Plenty of choice for the carnivorous too. These people are at the top of their game. Service was professional, polite and courteous. Time has been taken to train staff and its clear they are happy to work there. Can't wait to go back.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 4 February 2024
- Marylou78Navan, Ireland24 contributionsDefinitely worth itWe dined at Kirwins lane with a few friends on a Saturday night. The restaurant was buzzy, the food was excellent, the service was superb. We had a fantastic evening and I'm looking forward to when we're next back in Galway so we can visit it againVisited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 24 March 2024
- romanwanderer2015Galway, Ireland36 contributionsReliably awesomeWe visited having booked at short notice on a Saturday night in March. Sat at the bar counter and enjoyed a lovely meal in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Food was terrific, wine perfect. As always. However the friendly and welcoming experience is just great. Killian, Petrina and the other staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. While the wine was opened we toasted each other, privately as we thought, on our wedding anniversary. However we were overheard and the staff made a real fuss with the dessert, with a chocolate greeting. What a treat. We met Sam who was buzzing after having scored his first try in the All Ireland League that afternoon, and was on duty that evening. As I had been at the game, we had a great conversation, and were stunned afterwards to hear that he was very friendly with our nephew. Couldn't write it! So well done to you all as always, we have loved being customers at Kirwans for many many years, and long may the welcome and the great food and service continue.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 March 2024
- lisa G39 contributionsWonderful Dining ExperienceWhat a wonderful find! We had a delicious meal. We shared the sauteed prawns appetizer, which was very tasty. I had the duck for my main course which was absolutely delicious. My husband had the dry aged sirloin of beef, which was cooked to perfection. We had a very lovely server and we enjoyed the lively but cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend this restaurant while visiting Galway.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 June 2024
- Jennifer O30 contributionsDelicious!Superb! After a very wet day in Ireland and while staying at a less than ideal hotel, I really wanted a delicious hot meal. And Ireland, in general, has great seafood. I had no reservation. They squeezed me in at the gorgeous marble bar. Each dish was really beautiful and so flavorful. I really enjoyed the prawns. The staff were all so friendly. I was grateful to have had a wonderful meal. Perfection!Visited August 2024Travelled soloWritten 9 August 2024

I have no problem paying for good quality food tonight I paid E38 for black sole no problem with that, price as per menu, , what I have a problem with is veg and potatoes, chips, the main came with 4 small potatoes between 4 of us and when I asked for veg and potatoes it was like I asked for their first born. When u pay 38E for a main course , seriously how much is veg which they charged extra for. Onother issue I booked for a table of 4 on Wednesday as their phones were down on Tuesday, I was told onlly outdoor available, I went to the toilet 3 times between 7 and 9 and there was plenty of room inside to accommodate us, when I brought this to the attention of the manager he disagreed, but I'm not blind. In summary fabulous food pity drama about veg, u pay enough ...

This really never disappoints and yet again under the difficult scenario of Covid restrictions we had a seriously excellent meal with great service and friendly commitment by everyone. A local interpretation of prawn pilpil was superb, as were the scallops and the salmon. Mains of turbot, steak, halibut and sea bass were sublime. This time we didn’t venture into desert but all were truly excellent. Presentation as can be seen from the photos is also super. Will always come back

When we are traveling, we rarely go back to the same restaurant twice, as we like to explore as much as possible. But Kirwan’s Lane is so fabulous that we had dinner there two of the four nights we spent in Galway. Everything we had - the mussels, the scallops, the seabass, the oysters (!!!), the hake, the crème brûlée, even the bread - was so delicious and satisfying! The service on our first visit was top-notch. (On our second visit, it appeared they should better train their wait staff. Our server was very pleasant but couldn’t discuss the menu at all and had to be reminded several times to bring our check.) We wholeheartedly recommend Kirwan’s Lane and we’ll be back when we are next in Galway!

What a find! I managed to secure a table for three at pretty short notice, even though the restaurant is very lively tonight. Our oysters (with creamy pints of Guinness) were superb - pure freshness. Starters of prawn cocktail for me and one of my pals and scallops for our other friend were utterly delicious. We all had fillet of hake with risotto for mains, and I can honestly say it’s one of the tastiest meals I’ve had in a very long time. Service was both impeccably attentive and prompt, and everyone working in the restaurant was so friendly and good humoured. Bravo!

The food was delicious. The waitstaff as well as the sommelier was friendly, professional and attentive. The setting was delightful. The sautéed prawns were outstanding and not to be missed. The black sole, which is actually what we call Dover Sole, was excellent. We finished with an upside down cheese cake. I am not a dessert lover but this was delicious. Be sure to reserve a table when you are in Galway.

My husband and I had a fantastic meal in Kirwan's lane last night. Such a beautiful restaurant. The dim lighting, candles and live music create a relaxed and romantic atmosphere. The service deserves to be mentioned as it was exceptional! It isn't often that the service is faultless and it certainly was in Kirwan's Lane. Great staff doing a fantastic job! Well done. The food was delicious. We had the hake and scallops for our mains. Portions were generous too. Dessert was great. My first time ever to finish a creme brulee ... I just couldn't leave it there!😋 Looking forward to another visit to this outstanding restaurant.

Kirwan's Lane is a Middle Aged street in the center of Galway, the most important city in Western Ireland. It is located in Latin's Quarter and here you can see some bars, restaurants and coloured houses like The Seafood bar@ Kirwan's, which is excellent. Very nice place to walk.
