Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Galway is OK. It is a lot of pubs with a few shops. There are a lot of restaurants, but you need to make a reservation at the good ones. I believe this is the city that has the bar with multiple entrances from different roads, walking into a gin bar or whiskey bar, etc.. it was just pure genus. Not impressed with music in bars. I won’t stay in Galway again.

This spot can get crowded so if Covid afraid wear your mask. We stumbled upon at least three separate groups of local musicians. Lots of food choices as well and leads down to the water

Even in a driving rainstorm, it is impossible not to fall in love with Galway (aka city of tribes), the 'capital' of Western Ireland located on the Atlantic. Quay Street, the pedestrianized street in the heart of the city, is filled with pubs playing traditional music, colourful shop facades, and enough restaurants and shops to satisfy every shopper. Galway is known for it seaside location, traditional music, cobbled streets, festivals and its lively culture, art and food. This was one of my favourite cities in Ireland ... possibly my very favourite ... and a return is high on my to-do list, hopefully during one of the city's many festivals.

We walked down Quay street and the , oddly named, Latin Quarter. Busy and full of energy. Some nice shops, and pubs, we may have tried a few. We enjoyed the talented musicians playing on street corners.

My husband and I walked around this area and the Latin Quarter for 30-45 minutes on a tour pit stop. Very, very busy and crowded area. Keep an eye on your kids and leash your dogs! Plenty of shops, pubs, and restaurants. We also saw a few buskers plus a man and his dog makong some engravings. Not sure how crucial a role the dog played in the process.

The street is really lively with great buskers and general shops. However the crowds can get a bit too hectic on Friday afternoons and weekends. Also didn’t like the number of smokers who thought it was ok to breathe their cigarettes on a baby.

We really liked Galway and the action is all in and near the Latin Quarter. There is about a 70,000 perm pop here with another 25,000 college students and they all party in about a 5 block radius in and near the Latin Quarter. A fun town!

If you enjoy Irish music, culture and great Guinness, then get yourself to Quay Street! Each pub is unique! And the craic is great. We met a friend of my uncle (who has passed) in Tig Coli and heard some great stories about him. That was made my trip.

Street nicely designed and in the heart of the city, lot of shops and places to eat or drink.

But I found it more overcrowded and chaotic to enjoy, maybe I went on a busier day than normal and missed the charm of the street.

It did look like it had many historical buildings that could be enjoyed.

We weren't impressed. Way too many people bumping into each other. A few shops were cute but many of the stores I see back in my own hometown area. Some of the pubs looked fun but we ate outside of the main area.
