Terrible food and drink
Aug 2020
I was recently here and the food and drinks were a complete let down! I had come with a friend and we ordered a strawberry daiquiri cocktail which tasted nothing like it whatsoever and more like a water down version of the drink. We then ordered dishes containing chicken and again was a let down. The dishes had no flavour and I saw a review saying it was like eating microwaved food and I would definitely agree. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to eat here and instead look at other options available in Eyre Square such as Skeff Bar the food and drink was great here and so was the service!

Myself and a group of friends booked a table here last night and we were welcomed by a rude and snarky waitress, we asked if we could order drinks while we looked at the menu and we were told we could not do that, we then ordered our food Which in my opinion came out way too quickly As the food came out before our drinks which as a waitress myself is very bad etiquette and one of the orders was wrong(which wasn’t an issue it was easily fixed) But we could see the waitress talking about our table the whole night and giving us dirty looks. We all felt so uncomfortable and unwanted in the restaurant. We decided to quickly finish our food and our drink and to leave after that because of the tense environment. While trying to pay for our bill we were told we were not able to split the bill Which I found very strange. I understand that food orders can be wrong but the rudeness of the waitress and the tense atmosphere made it so uncomfortable for us to stay longer than40 minutes. This experience almost ruined our night but we then went somewhere else where we enjoyed ourselves much more. There are so many other places in eyre square that are so much better than the cellar. I wouldn’t bother wasting your money in this place. You go out to enjoy yourself not to feel uncomfortable and isolated by a waitress.

Menu has a wide choice. All presented well and fresh. Tasty if not strange panini combination was delicious. Clearly homemade soup was lovely
Great chatty staff made us feel welcome and cared for.

Went here on recommendation of front desk clerk at hotel. Just your basic dependable stuff, nothing more nothing less.

Had a fabulous meal in the Cellar this evening. Very child friendly. We had 2 very hyper 6 year olds and it was made very easy by our fabulous waitress Tracey. Who looked after our every need. Can’t wait to go back

The service was good but i cant say the same for the food. 3 of us got dishes containing chicken & non of us could finish it. It was like eating microwave food. A big thumbs down 👎🏼

Visited here with my husband. We were very disappointed. Service was very poor. We ordered our food and waitress ran off before we got a chance to order drinks. When she was passing we asked to order drinks. She took order, 10 minutes later still no sign. After some time we were advised that they don't have any diet coke! I opted for water. Eventually was thrown up half a pint of luke warm water. I actually had concerns that this may have come from someone's table......after a long wait, another waitress dropped down our food. Other waitress came straight over and asked was everything ok. My husband said, looks Goid but we haven't tasted it as we just got it. Her response was "yeah it will grand". Food was very good, generous portions and very tasty. Service on the other hand was very very poor. It wasn't busy so really no excuse. Tpher attitude was unacceptable.

This has become the favourite dining spot for me and my friend after a day out shopping in the city centre. With the best curry I've tasted so far and very generous portions, it's no wonder that sometimes the place is so full, you might have to wait a bit to be seated. But not too worry, the wait isn't long and is definitely worth it. It's also a great chilled place for some evening music with a band usually set up most weekend nights either upstairs or downstairs and friendly staff who will promptly serve your favourite beverage and can make a great variety of cocktails.
