We visited Muckross house and did a tour, I think it was about £12 for entry and you had a guide to take you through and tell you all the history. The tour guide was a lovely ole chap, but I feel he needed a bit more personality. I found his telling of the history a bit slow and made... More

The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and the hikes were a great way to stretch our legs. We also were able to see a couple herds of red stag which was a really neat sight!

I found the guided tour in new the house to be interesting and informative. The local history of the house and family and the relationship with queen Victoria I found to be fascinating. Also interesting was the earlier history of the lady of the house and her relationship with Henry the eighth.

Our visit and tour of Muckross House was truly an educational experience learning of era's gone by. The House and Gardens are so amazing as was our tour guide. On property they have a delightful gift shop and you can see the weavers working in the work shop and then enjoy a cup of tea and snack in the eating... More

This historic house is well worth a visit for it's historic content, for the quality of the guides and for the craft work that happens on site. it was a wild and wet day when we went so we didn't have a chance to really explore the gardens and the farm aspect wasn't open but overall, we were very pleased... A visit to this house is worthwhile, especially on the guided tour. I have taken the tour twice and found that the second time was just as interesting as the first due to the different way the guides presented. Walking through the rooms and corridors provides a glimpse of what life may have been like for those who lived between... More

This was my second time to the grounds of the garden and house, but 1st time to tour the house. Was unsure if my 10 year old would appreciate it, but using our Heritage Cards, we decided if she bored easily and we stepped out of the tour early we would not lose anything. Luckily she loved the entire tour... More

We went there as a stop of the Ring of Kerry. The Muckross House is located in a great spot in the Killarney NP directly on the lake. It must has been such a pleasure to live there back in the days. The surrounding park is beautiful, too. Unfortunately, we could not visit the house insode since it seems to... More
