Booking in advance might be a good idea at the height of tourist season or during a festival or other holiday. The horses and drivers are usually lined up along the street waiting for customers. Just approach one as you would a regular cab. They...More

Our family enjoyed the Jaunting Car tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun. We toured the park and Muckross House. Make sure you go to the waterfall, its a litttle bit of a hike up to it but well worth it.

A ride on a rather wet morning through the Killarney National Park to Ross Castle was enlivened by our cheerful and knowledgeable driver. A thoroughly enjoyable ride.

We parked at the lot with the carriages and jumped on. It was worth every penny if you have limited time to see the park as we did. We saw the Mucfoss Abbey first, although you don't get terribly close to it. We then went...More

We paid 40/ euros in March for two.
We have a group of 5 adults, 2 seniors (aged 66 and 75), and 3 toddlers (aged 2.5, 3, and 4). We all want to see the Gap of Dunloe but the tour said it goes to Lakes of Killarney and Gap of Dunloe making it a total of 5 hours. The boat portion looked like it was 2 hours or so. Does anyone have experience bringing kids this age on this tour? Also, is this something that would be okay for my grandmother who is 75? It will be late August if that matters. I appreciate any help with this just wanted to get some opinions of previous travelers.

The Jaunting Tour is fine for all ages. Very slow pace. Carriages are comfortable.
How rough is the ride? I don't want to do it if it's going to aggravate my back and SI joint problems
