Nice views and tour

We really liked the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable didn't romantize living in a castle. We would certainly recommend it as another attraction in the Ring of Kerry area.

There were many tourists picnicking here, even though the tours are closed for the season. The grounds are beautiful, and you can walk around the outside of the castle. Parking is free, and there's a beautiful lake and mountains behind the castle.

After a carriage ride in the park, The castle was an unexpected bonus. It is well preserved and well kept. It was a pleasure to visit.

We visited in the early AM - - it was sooo calm and peaceful! The lake view is spectacular in the morning - the views in every direction beyond words! The reflections into the lake extraordinary! Ethereal, really! We did not actually tour the castle - - the setting is worth it all!

We walked to Ross Castle from Killarney on a damp afternoon in May and after a long walk to get there we were very disappointed, not only was the castle poor but the facilities were poor or rather non exsistant, no cafe open but luckily the toilets were open and this was the highlight of the afternoon. We spent no... More

The work they did on the renovation was outstanding. You'll learn a lot about it on the tour. Also sad to find out how the castle fell into ruins. A must see.

I love history, so I loved this place. But, NO PHOTOS !!! In a castle for God's sake !! I cannot understand this photo-phobia, this place is really photogenic. Well worth a visit if you like history. Not for small kids. Also, not for the disabled. Steep staircases.

This has to be one of the most romantically situated castles in the world. Rising over the lake and surrounded by the beauties of the National Park. The Castle is steeped in history and worth a visit - try and book a guide. You can arrive by boat from the Gap of Dunloe trip or you can walk from Killarney.... More

We could walk into parts of the outer castle and get some great shots of the castle and the lake. Lots of families there feeding the ducks and others rowing on the lake. Definitely worth a visit.
