Beautiful, tranquil place. It's close to the city and it's worth visiting. One may rent a bike or even walk the distance.

We walked from Killarney House to Ross Castle. Easy walk, well marked. We saw 10 different kinds of birds, deer and enjoyed various flora. The castle is worth exploring and the lake is beautiful. So nice to see so many locals enjoying the walk to/from the castle also!

Unfortunately due to the time of the year the castle was closed. But we were still able to walk into the gates and walk around it. I enjoyed it and got some great photos but gosh it was really cold and windy.

This castle really was wonderful to look at. Unfortunately we went on our last day and it was very cold and rainy. It was a lovely spot over looking a lake. Would be so nice to have a picnic or just to walk around. Definitely will visit again next time I am in Ireland.

This is an incredible place where you can see the Ross Castle and its surroundings. Believe when I tell you you have to stop here and the castle surroundings are absolutely amazing. Also you have an amazing pathway where the view is absolutely breathtaking.

This s a fairytale castle and I got some stunning pictures here as we had clear blue sky when we visited. There is a pond with swans and ducks right in front of the castle and a little bridge to walk into the castle.. We visited around Christmas break so there wasn't any ticket office or entrance to the castle... More

Lovely walk, spent an hour walking around the grounds it's a lovely spot for picnics and has some beautiful vantage points looking out at the lakes and mountains. The castle itself is a lovely sight and very interesting for toddlers and children to roam around.

We wandered down after breakfast and were disappointed it was closed for winter. But we still wandered the grounds and looked about nonetheless. It's a stunning property with gorgeous vistas. We played down near the river which had frozen over. So beautiful. We'd never seen a frozen river before!

Was surrounded by a lake. Real educational. Not allowed to take pictures inside due to some of the antique furniture inside the rooms.

I arrived by jaunting car and had as much time as I wanted to visit this fine castle. The views from top to bottom were fantastic as it's setting is on Lough Lein, the lower lake of the three lakes.
