Attended mass here today. Loved the service which was only a tad different from ours in US although the church itself was much more impressive (and of course much older). Great organ music (beautiful old instrument too) although no choir. Priest's voice beats ours as well. But the church is the main non-religious attraction with soaring stone columns, wooden roof and gorgeous stained glass. Worth a visit by all denominations.

This is a typical church from the era, nothing really sets this apart from others we have seen across the country. The wooden beams holding up the roof are a style that is nice for Ireland compared to other parts of the world. But, this church is a quick stop or not if you don't have time.

Attending a wedding at St Mary's is a treat indeed. A beautiful setting, easy to access with nearby parking. The atmosphere in the cathedral is divine and the space and windows are worthy of much study.

If it hadn’t been for the recommendations of the tourist office we would have given this a miss. That would have been our loss. From previous experience, we had expected a gothic style cathedral to be be a bit ‘over the top’ , but we delighted with what we found at St Mary’s Cathedral. The light and airy nave made superb use of local materials, and was really majestic. The stained glass windows were glorious, several highlighting some of the important Irish saints. We would have loved to be there when there was someone playing the very imposing organ, as the sound must be magnificent.

One of the best Cathedrals in Ireland. Very accessible to all ages. Lovely and calming to visit. It has a cavernous feeling but the space can be used to pray or reflect or whatever you would do in a normal church. Plenty of stained glass and wonderful architecture to enjoy.

Beautiful, serene cathedral. Gothic architecture with lovely stained glass windows. The baptistry was very pretty. Many opportunities to light candles for various causes (for a suggested donation). The door will be propped open if visitors are able to pass through

My wife and I took a self-guided tour of St. Mary's during our recent visit to Killarney. This is a very large, very beautiful traditional Catholic cathedral. The arches are really impressive, along with the long but narrow stained glass windows.

An amazing cathedral, which is made more impressive when you learn the history of it. Over 60 years to build, it overcame the Hunger and stands magnificent in Killarney. Visitors to Killarney must see it.

My wife and I spent a couple of days loving every bit about Killarney. We had a busy schedule, but we made sure to stop in here on our way out of town. While it is not the most amazing European Cathedral, it does have one of the most beautiful baptistries I have ever seen. The tiles are spectacular. The stain glass windows are elegant and not overdone. The altar is also very lovely, setting the eight mood for worshipping. Do not leave the city of Killarney without a stop in here to praise God and give Him thanks.

The 1970s have a lot to answer for, and the desecration of Pugin's interior to 1970s ecclesiastical fashion is right up there.

A bare travesty of a Pugin church, only the lofty arches, some of the stained glass, and the tesserae on a couple of side chapels are of any interest. If anything, the grey-green stone makes it look more like the Mines of Moria (from LoTR) than anything else.

It's an active place of worship, and mobbed on Sundays, but as an example of Pugin's work? Sad.
