I took a day to do explore the Ring beginning and ending in Killarney. Rented from Lemon Rock tours (very good experience) and rode clockwise. Motorcycle is a good option because it's less intimidating when squeezing past oncoming busses/trucks. It's a beautiful ride with any...More

We left early to 'beat the buses'. Beautiful scenery and well worth spending the entire day exploring the area. A highlight for us was Valentia Island. Very quiet with few tourists but spectacular scenery with rolling, green grass and dramatic cliffs. A must do if you...More

Last time I was here, approx 15yrears ago, the road was like a one lane goat track. Now 2 lanes so you are not restricted in direction. We started in Killarney at Muckross & the tour buses seemed to start in Kilorglin, so were coming...More

The trail is as beautiful as everyone says. I'm here to warn of a biting dog just as you come into Caherdaniel from the Derrynane National Park. Keep your eyes peeled for a black and white border collie before a large farm with sheep, cows,...More

So, so lucky, we had a beautiful day to go with beautiful scenery. The breath taking views, the stunning coast line, all went to make a lovely day.

John and I walked for 8 glorious days, B&B hopping along the way. Amazing vistas across diverse landscapes. The trail is well-marked resulting in only one goof. Be warned however - it is a hard walk, averaging about 15 miles per day, with many ups...More

What a beautiful drive. There are many spots worthy of a picture. The road is often narrow however so pulling over can be problematic. My advise is to leave early to miss the crowds. Also keep your eyes open for the famine house, a dark...More

Our tour took us around the Ring of Kerry which is a relatively long drive but certainly worth it to see the beauty of the Irish Landscape from its rolling green hills to the beautiful seascapes along the shoreline.

Travelling on a coach during a package holiday with Leger Holidays "Grand Tour of Ireland" and were very fortunate to have beautiful weather and the scenery is absolutely wonderful. Ireland is so beautiful and this area is natural and unspoilt.

this is a must but i will warn that you need to add extra time to your trip as the roads are narrow and visitors do travel very slow (<50km) so you will have to forget what the GPS says you will arrive at. if...More

Thanks so much, John. I have been researching the most scenic and/or interesting parts of the Way and am still a little torn about which ones to do. I wish we had time to do the whole thing. Looks like the most... More

I do not advise walking the Kerry Way. Sorry - I do not have a guide book to recommend. I would suggest signing up for a local tour that include the Kerry Way.
