We were on a walking tour of Kerry county, and had a fantastic time even in the rain. This is the largest national park in Ireland, and it's truly spectacular. Be prepared to walk, and give yourself a few days. The trails are clearly marked and...More

A very pretty Sunday morning jaunt through the park was lovely. We stopped at Ross Castle which was the only place in all of Ireland that we were bothered by bugs!

This is a beautiful place in a beautiful country. We rode bikes, explored by car, and made sure to see as much as possible here. Don't rush through!

We drove through a portion of Killarney National Park, and it is breathtaking. We hiked to a beautiful waterfall, saw some wildlife during our drive. I would love to return and spend more time here.

Ok I only gave it a 4star--I feel a bit ashamed for looking like I'm knocking nature...but I'm not really. A national park should always be worthy of a perfect rating in my book. I only give it a four due to the type of...More

Early mornings were spent in the park running alongside rivers to a lake, mountains and Castle Ross. A herd of about 30 Irish red deer were in a meadow. Alternatively, horse carts and drivers can be utilized for a unique ride. The park hosts 5...More

The roads appear to be old paths converted to roads but they are drivable. Drive with caution.
Evening, How long would you say it took you to walk to Tor falls and back, visiting in June, putting together itinery. cheers

Hi, I'd say an hour each way easily to the lower falls. There is another smaller falls above the main falls but these involve a fairly steep climb. The gardens were really worth the visit. There's another circular walk... More

Is there a walking path that hits all of the main sights? From maps it looks like you might have to drive from one area to another. Also, how long should we allocate for time touring the park and enjoying the general area (not including the Ring)?
