Visited the Smithwicks Experience while staying in Kilkenny and it's definitely worth the trip. It's not expensive and you actually learn a lot - not boring just genuinely interesting info! Our tour guide Mingha was really knowledgeable and added to the experience. You get the option to have a pint at the end or a paddle which is basically 3... More

Enjoyed this tour, the guide was a part of the Smithwicks team for many generations and he did a great job narrating both the past of Smithwicks and the process of making the red ale. Particularly enjoyed the experience of drinking the wort, smelling the hops and finally drinking the finished product. Hats off to our guide though (think it... More

Does this tour last summer an really enjoyed it. Was very informative and some great ideas used to get the information across. Well worth it if your in kilkenny and of course the free pint of smithwicks at the end of the tour is a delight.

I discovered and liked Smithwicks since I moved to Ireland and I was curious to visit the old factory. The staff is very nice and friendly and our guide Colm was very enthusiastic and informative, telling us about the history of the brand and the city and the link of many families in Kilkenny with the brewery. It's really central... More

This is a really cool place, a lot of history, and above all else you get a pint of Smithwick's at the end of the tour! I've been twice, and intend to go again!

Our family of three enjoyed the tour of Smithwicks. The tour was very interesting and detailed. One can learn a great deal about the family and how the brewery grew over time. At the end of the tour, one can sit and enjoy a pint of your choice of Smithwicks. The only drawback, is the area where you sit to... More

I thought this was a really excellent tour, with clever use of technology to give a real flavour of the paste. This is a must for all beer lovers out there

This is an interesting tour even if you are not interested in beer. We especially enjoyed the audio-visual parts of the tour. The technology was brilliant of the hologram monk as well as the portraits in the drawing room. We actually wished that the initial video they have everyone watch would be much longer since the Irish produce such high-quality... More
