Great history lesson

Great castle! This tour was excellent and the amount of authentic history is second to none. Medieval history at its finest! Great city and a must see!

We spent a week in Ireland and a week in Scotland so we saw multiple castles, cathedrals and forts. I must say this one, albeit old and very inexpensive, was average at best. It's a self-guided tour and you can do it in about 30 mins

We climbed the vary narrow and steep staircases and scrambled the very slippery steps to get to the top, but it was worth it to see the beautiful views.

I personally don't care for cathedrals, but this one was great. You just pay the entrance fee and can walk around the cathedral, look at all of the information, and see the tombs. There's a gift shop inside, and an area for kids to play. The tower was very cool. I'm scared of heights, and going up the tower was... More

We went to this cathedral on our first day in Kilkenny and to our disappointment we had missed the opening hours. So the following day we went back and of course we were cutting it fine at 3.30 as the cathedral closes at 4, but the staff were brilliant and so accommodating, we were allowed to visit the attraction and... To climb to top of the tower, you need to have some level of fitness and not be afraid of heights. Once at the top the view is worth the climb. Absolutely amazing view of Kilkenny. The Church is lovely, old and historical, very interesting to walk around.

The church itself is quite interesting, lots of history. The climb is by ladder, in close quarters but not too hard. What a wonderful view of the town and countryside once up there.

Another step back in time in Kilkenny. Really interesting to walk around the old cathedral and back into Norma times. The tower is a major highlight. Great view - but not for the faint of heart!

This climb is not for the faint hearted.... there are quite a few sets of steep ladder steps to reach the top with only a thin cold (wet) railing to hang onto. However having said that the view from the top is amazing!

We had a group of visitors from all over Europe and we felt their visit couldn't be complete to kilkenny without having a bird's-eye view from the tower , what a treasure .
