Hurling is an incredible experience, and there really isn't anywhere else in Kilkenny that teaches you about Hurling. The experience starts at Lanigan's bar -- basically, the epitome of a sports bar with a HUGE (20 feet?) big-screen (imported from Germany) TV showing hurling or soccer matches. You walk ~1 mile from Lanigan's to the O'Loughlin Gaels GAA field where... More

The good part about this "Experience" was the time on the Hurling Field and learning some of the skills and rules. Now for the bad... Actually we were on the secondary practice field, not even the proper practice field which was being used by a local club. There was NO "Tour of Nolwan Park Home of the Kilkenny Cats" as... More

Kevin gave me & my fellow 4 travel pals a fun afternoon. A quick walk to the field and we learned all about a game i never knew existed till I travelled here. And the included meal was grand...... And if you don't like lamb there IS alternatives unlike what has been posted below. I'd love to do it again.

Sorry to say it, but our family of 4 were let down. First -- we met in a bar, but were not even offered a glass of water. There was one and only one guy with our group (16 people). He was a nice enough young kid, but he didn't even introduce himself, and he gave a really minimal intro... More

I enjoyed trying out the skills of the game very much. It was a lot of fun! I also gained a great respect for the sport (It's NOT easy!! haha!)

A fun way to spend a couple hours. Learn some basic hurling moves and then eat some stew. Definitely recommended!

The national sport of Ireland, Hurling, can be discovered within roughly two hours. First you get some information about the game and then you walk to a nearby Hurling field and learn to play. Very nice people run this educational and sportive attraction.

Had a great time. Even though it was end of season and I happened to be the only one who booked the activity on that day, was wonderful

We books this activity based on a newspaper article I had read on unusual attractions in Ireland. We met in Lanigans pub which was a bit confusing as our e-ticket didn't have any mention of this. We were greeted by a very nice young man, Kevin, who walked us to the pitch for our lesson - just our family of... More
