So much to see and learn on this trail. The roads are good and the various sites are well signposted. There is much to learn!!

I'm amazed that more people don't do this, it's so worthwhile. The trail consists of 21 archaeological and heritage sites within a few miles of Westport town. We covered most of the sites in two days, but need to plan a visit to Clare Island...More

An abandoned village with many stone remains. You can imagine what life must have been like then. Lots of walking.

Signposted fascinating selection of ancient monuments i never knew of in many previous trips around the area. Bought a book for 10 euros which has dreadful directions and no more information than on the sites but finally found most of them. See the Bohane Stone...More

This is located at The Quay in Westport (we walked from Westport to it , approx 20 mins) and could be easily overlooked. The sign is close to where the Tour Train operates. It's a small building crammed with memorabilia of local and national history...More
