Stunning views - average falls

Road up to the falls is narrow and tight. Lots of sheep on the mountain. Views from the top are excellent. Falls not that special. Recommended as nice walk.

The road leading to Mahon Falls is typically Irish: you desperately hope you don't meet anyone coming down the road towards you because it's so narrow!!

The view is literally enough to turn an atheist agnostic. The Comeragh mountain tops are so high that the iuds were hiding them. There isn't a photograph that can do justice to the beauty and peace of the area.

Some facts:

1) There is structured, free parking for visitors
2) Entry is free
3) It's in the mode of nowhere, so there's no toilets at the place
4) The pathway from the parking to the falls is longish, and very well maintained. Mostly wheelchair accessible
5) You can walk up the side of the falls too if you're fit and adventurous enough
6) There are lots of goats, and they leave lots of droppings all over the pathway
7) There's a bit of litter around as there're no dustbins anywhere. So if you're the litter pick up types, remember your picker, gloves and rubbish bag (to help people who's mammy didn't raise them right)

Beautiful little hike/walk. It's about 15 min to get to the falls from parking. Easy/family friendly. Stunning views.
Easy access.

A Stunner
Jul 2020 • Friends
Absolutely beautiful place to visit. A 15 minute or so drive from the main road along a very narrow winding little road up into the Comeragh Mountains.
There's a big enough car park and then a short, maybe 20 minute stroll along a gravel path to the falls.
It's spectacular as you look back towards the sea and the coast or in front of you at the towering valley sides as the falls drop down.
We were there in very dry weather so the flow wasnt too torrential or vigorous, I'd say it would be spectacular after rains.
Nevertheless we loved it, a stunning place, so serene and humbling.

Nice visit to Eas na Machan

We had a lovely walk up Eas na Machan the other day.It is just outside the village of kilrossaunty which is beautiful.I loved admiring the sheep at the mountain.Keep in mind there is no toilets or hand sanitizer so use the toilets in your house or for tourists hotels and maybe bring your hand sanitizer up there.

Beautiful

This area is stunning. For those who are avid hillwalkers, there are plenty of options for long trecks.
For families, once you leave the car park, there is a footpath to the base of the waterfall. Lots of small hills so you would need to be a regular walker to get the full enjoyment from your day out.
Great activity that is has no fee.

Stunning views
Oct 2019 • Solo
Worth the effort to drive up the narrow twisty lanes and park up at the top. It’s then another 20 mins walk along a well maintained track to the base of the Falls. It had been raining hard the past few days so the falls were pretty gushing.
BUT the view looking back from the falls right the way to the coastline is spectacular.

Pleasant views
Sep 2019 • Couples
If in the area it’s worth visiting but I wouldn’t travel far. The footpath is well maintained so suitable for prams, strollers wheelchairs. It’s a short walk (20 minutes) from the free car park. The Falls are not particularly dramatic but the views to the coast are lovely.
