First, logistics. The walk from the car park to the actual falls is just a little over half a mile, one way. The foot path is well-maintained and, for the most part, it's an easy walk (i.e. there are no steep climbs, only gradual hills...More

Nice gravel walk from top car park to falls. The car park can be busy but there is a second parking spot just down the road and not too far to walk. Great mountains around and there is a route around the top. The road...More

Great to revisit Mahon Falls in the Comeragh Mountains again for a brisk and healthy walk. This is well worth a visit and is accessible from the Dungarvan to Kilmacthomas road. The waterfall is spectacular and the shadow from the sun is extraordinary.

Last time we came here the falls were not much more than a trickle and we were able to climb fairly high up the side. This time the falls were much more impressive, but less approachable due to the high flow of water. The falls...More

Mahon falls is but one aspect of Comeragh Drive which gives you magnificent views of the mountains, waterfalls and right down to sea. The ‘magic road’ offers you an opportunity to experience your car rolling uphill with the engine turned off!! The roads are narrow...More

Where else can you be surrounded by sheep, see waterfalls in front of you and turn around for a broad view of the sea? We arrived late in the day and only encountered 2 other families in our 40 minute walk there and back.

A bit long for the three year old. You'll be carrying him/her most of the way. It's up and down but a very good path.
