We were visiting Wicklow town and walked up the castle, which is just beside the harbor and pier. There are plaques detailing the history but they are quite worn. As the other reviews said there is very little of the castle left standing, but you...More

Although there is very little left of the castle, the views offered at this site are well worth the short walk from the center of town to get there. The water, cliffs, pier and harbor are stunning from this vantage point. Bring a snack and...More

Black Castle is just a short easy walk from downtown Wicklow. There is an historic plaque that gives a brief history. The ruins are indeed ruins and the adventurous are free to climb about it. I looked out through the remaining window hole and imagined...More

We really enjoyed stumbling upon this site. It gave a beautiful view of the water. Definitely a neat, free artifact to check out if in the area! Parking was convenient by the wharf.

Is Tinnycross in Co Kildare? If so you will have to get a bus to Dublin city centre and get the 133 Expressway bus to Wicklow. The 133 will get you from Dublin in about an hour and 30mins
