You probably know us as a lovely place for children to see the animals, run around in beautiful countryside and let off steam in our state-of-the-art play barn - but there's a lot more to Sacrewell.

With the help of £1.4 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund, our 18th century water mill is being transformed into a national centre for milling excellence - take a tour and find out how your great-grandparents got their daily bread. Foodies can also join a tractor trip around the fields of our tenant farmers Riverford Organic Farms (it's on our land).

Then there's our wildlife trail, scavenger hunt and two new rambles - if you're lucky, you'll see the rare red kites and brown hares. Seasonal events range from our Lamb National to ploughing with vintage tractors. You can even meet a film star - some of our shires appeared in War Horse.

In our 50th year as a charity dedicated to agricultural education, we continue to welcome students of all ages who want to learn traditional skills and get an insight into rural life. We hope that all our visitors not only have a great day out but feel they've learned something too.

Beautiful setting, lots to see and do. You can quite easily spend all day here or a few hours, which ever you prefer. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's always keptery clean. I have been here with my family and friends many many times and never ever had a bad experience. Always enjoyed it, would recommend going on a... More

I am here as write this and i have to say we are really enjoying our time. Lots to see, very well kept and impeccable staff. Would strongly suggest the tractor ride and the river mill tour (yes a working river mill). The volunteers (engineer's by trade) certainly know their stuff. Touche.

Children love going to Sacrewell Farm near Peterborough - farm animals (goats, chickens, donkeys, rabbits) can be a hands-on experience for them. The cafe is reasonable and the under-cover play area is good too. Plenty of hand-washing facilities mean that the health regulations can be well observed.

The refurbished water mill was excellent, recommend you do the guided tour to get feel for the history and workings of the mill. The animals, including the goats are friendly and didn't present a problem. The place was staffed by helpful friendly people, and is well run. Great for kids (aged 0 - 94 years), and if it's raining you... More

Quite expensive but it's a good day out, we spent 5 hours there. We have visited here for the past 10 years, maybe a couple of times a year, we have done the Halloween events and Christmas events. The tractor ride is OK, but I no longer pay extra for this because once you've done it a couple of times... More

Fun areas for play indoors and outside..animal for kids to stroke and admire..the educational mill and a tractor ride. There is a nice cafe serving hot and cold lunchtime snacks and drinks. A lovely place to spend some time.

I visited her Friday with a work colleague and 5 adults with learning disabilities. It took us about 30 minutes to walk around and see everything. Although there were a variety of animals to see it wasn't what we were expecting. It's very small and not much else to do. The tractor ride was ok but again not much to... More

The soft play area and farm are fantastic for kids - my 2.5 year old loved it. The restaurant was awful though - they had sold out of everything when we went to have lunch (about 1.30pm) and the staff were totally clueless. Very disappointing.

I was very disappointed with this farm as for those of us with limited mobility there was very little to see in the way of livestock. There are tractor rides and long walks across the farm that are undoubtedly lovely for the more able. That said, if you are visiting with small children you would get much better value for... More

Lovely well-maintained site, interesting for adults and children but prohibitive prices for families. Can't understand why they charge for 2 year olds when many of them can't take full advantage. Cafe is OK but I agree with others about limited choice for adults. I also think they could take some of the sting out if the admission prices by offering... More
