About
There is something for everybody at Ferry Meadows. Imagine somewhere beautiful, safe and unspoilt where you can walk, cycle, play, horse-ride, ride a train, go fishing, exercise the dog, jog, push the buggy and explore endless meadows, lakes and woodland all less than three miles from Peterborough's busy city centre. We also offer three play areas catering for different ages and an events programme throughout the year with lots of activities for children. If all of this isn't enough to keep you entertained the Visitor Centre & Gift shop stocks a wide range of toys and games along with gifts, souvenirs and sweet treats. After all this activity you can relax at one of our cafes, find a nice spot for a picnic or fire up on one of our barbecue stands. Nene Outdoors Watersports and Activity centre offers a wide range of watersports too for adults and children alike and you can book the meeting room for events with a view of the lake.

A perfect place. This was beautiful and the perfect retreat after a business meeting. The walks are lovely and the staff at the coffee shop were friendly and accommodating. I will definitely visit again if I am in the area.

I went to Ferry Meadows for the Sue Ryder charity starlight walk and was absolutely disgusted to be charged parking
I was only parked for 3 hours and it cost me £5.50 and I would imagine that a lot of others were charged rather more.
I don't suppose for a minute that the profits were donated to the charity
Surely for a charity event the parking could have been waived.
It has certainly left a bad taste in my mouth and it will be a long time before I return

Hi hilarybM2357NW, thanks for leaving your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed in paying for parking during your visit here to attend the Sue Ryder starlight walk. Please be advised that parking charges were discussed and included in the agreement made between Nene Park Trust and Sue Ryder for this particular event. Income generated from parking charges and annual memberships goes directly into future plans to look after our beautiful green spaces and improve our facilities for all visitors to enjoy. We do hope that you will return to the park in future. Kind regards

Dogs must now be on leads on many of the park’s paths.

Despite the fact that the vast majority of users are dog walkers.

Having walked my dogs in the park daily since 1989, without incident, I no longer feel welcome.

Recently the park has increasingly been focused on money making activities rather than user experience for its most loyal users. This dogs off leads ban is just the latest insult.

I will therefore be cancelling our annual parking membership and with great sadness, finding somewhere else to walk our dogs.

Attended the park run. Very busy car park (as every week). Staff proactively patrol the car park for ticketing. Not parking in a bay is a £50 fine. Poor- considering the additional revenue the event brings (and the reduced parking rate for the hour of the park run) all encouragement for a high turn out for this weekly event. There are no yellow line or hatchings (clear indicators of no parking). Worth being aware of this violation. An additional revenue making opportunity perhaps?

We hadn't been to Ferry Meadows for a couple of years and were very disappointed. Nettles, thistles and weeds obscuring views of the lakes wasn't what we remembered. It seems pointless to have benches facing a wall of nettles instead of views of the lake, which is what we found. The garden next to the shop was very overgrown. The cafe was fine and reasonable. We were looking forward to our return today, but we'll not be back.

Good Afternoon, thankyou for taking the time to leave us this review, as it is important that we are notified about things that dampen our visitors enjoyment of the park. I believe you visited just a few days before our Conservation Volunteers spent a day working hard on the garden near to the Visitor Centre and Farm shop. Lots of weeds were removed from the area that day, so when you attend next you will notice the difference. During the summer months we try to limit the amount of cutting back that we do, as it hinders the natural wildlife progression in the park. I am sorry that it ruined your views of the lakes when you visited. I do hope you will visit the park again soon. Kind Regards.

Hi psnowdon56, thankyou for taking the time to leave this review. We havent had any reports of this nature recently on Nene Park Trust land, and our Rangers have not made us aware of any thing either. I wonder if this might relate to the camping and caravanning site which is in close proximity to us? I would urge you to visit Ferry Meadows at Nene Park, as the park has lots to offer for the enjoyment of all ages. Kind Regards
