    Great little gem!
Came here on a busy Saturday afternoon in Harrogate for a drink with family and it was a gem of a place! Quite busy which made for a good atmosphere and a fantastic selection of ales from all over mostly including small independent breweries. It was. Little on the pricey side as a bottle cost £6 but it wouldn’t affect my rating as the ambience of the place well overrides it. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to return!

    Compact and cosy
Popped in for a drink on a Sunday evening and it was almost full! Good selection of cask beers, really helpful staff behind the bar (who suggested some great beers) and lovely cosy atmosphere (we were in the cellar). Great place to spend a few hours trying great beer.

    A Cracking Venue
We are so pleased we found The Little Ale House. It was busy but we were served quickly by the friendly staff and we able to taste a small sample of the beer before ordering. We shared a table with a lovely local couple who chatted and gave us restaurant recommendations. There was a large range to chose from. It would have been useful if the boards showed which beers were cask and which were keg, but that didn’t spoil our enjoyable couple of hours in the establishment. Will definitely come back and encourage anyone who enjoys good beer in a music and tv free environment to pay a visit. You won’t be disappointed.

    Superb real beer and atmosphere
Absolutely fantastic atmosphere, lovely little beer garden, great service and most importantly, superb beer. The Pale was sensational. Absolute must for a real ale drinker and really well done with getting the vibe just right.

Been here many times and love the place. However, came in tonight and wanted a small sample of a beer that I was thinking of buying. Was told it’s now 30p a sample and that I wouldn’t expect to have free samples in Tesco! Well actually they do offer free samples to encourage you to buy, cheese for example. Also if you buy perfume or after shave free samples are on offer. The other night in Cold Bath Brewery I was cheerfully offered 4 beers to try (I didn’t ask for them!) based on what I said I like. I spent over £80 in there, all the beers we were sampled and the one we all liked was the most expensive one at over £7 a pint. This is the first time EVER I have been asked to pay for a small sample in any micro bar, and I visit a lot of them. When a pint is expensive it’s not unreasonable to ask for a little try. If some customers abuse this then deal with them. It’s a premium product not Carling. Half the fun of visiting a micro pub is trying new and often expensive beers and chatting with the staff about what they have. For the avoidance of doubt the bar is fab, the staff were great and the beer was really good. However, charging me 30p for a sample when the beer is way over £6 a pint have left a very sour taste in my mouth. What a shame, this has never happened to me before. I run a business too and you do have to keep an eye on costs but this policy is in my opinion wrong on so many levels. I would prefer you put the prices up to cover samples than do this, it’s just not what micro pubs are about. :-(

We spent a weekend with friends in Harrogate and we are too old to go clubbing, too young to take the waters so the Little Ale House beckoned. It was full but we found a table in the basement. A fantastic choice of keg and cask, gin and ciders. Just the job, it’s close to restaurants and other bars too!

Great little place with a good range of excellent cask beer.. Really friendly, helpful staff and Mo, the four-legged 'meeter and greeter' made us feel extra welcome. There was a lovely, cosy atmosphere and the place is beautifully decorated, with some unusual, quirky features. Would definitely return.

What a superb little Ale House. The place was full of people enjoying themselves, giving a really relaxed and lovely environment.

I had a pint if the Blonde beer crisp, delicate and thirst quenchingly moorish!

First tried this pub a couple of years ago and have to say that I didn’t like the atmosphere which included a collection of beer snobs at the bar and a member of staff (or management) that almost went into a huff because we wanted our beers in straight glasses rather than jugs.

On this visit however, the atmosphere seemed much more relaxed and there was a good mix of people. Service was friendly and efficient and we thoroughly enjoyed our beers. On this form, this is a pub we will undoubtedly use more often.

We managed to lose our wives for half an hour while shopping in Harrogate. After 3 hours of being dragged around every shop we spotted this little gem a few yards off the main road and we deserved a beer. With 150 years of experience between the three of us we know a good pint when we find one. This micro brewery has got it just right.... simple comfortable furnishings, a warm welcome, no tv in sight and a great atmosphere. It was refreshing to meet friendly people who appreciated a couple of beers giving on the spot reviews and advice. That was just us!
Shame we only had 30 minutes and in that time it got quite busy. Such a relaxing place, a credit to the owners and staff and well worth a visit.

What a little gem. Was recommended this place when visiting Harrogate and every positive thing about it was true. A great variety of well kept beers and welcoming and knowledgeable staff is a winning combination. The place was Covid compliant but in a friendly and welcoming way and it is easy to see why it was always busy. I would say if you go to Harrogate and like good local beer this is a must visit place. Ticks all the boxes and they even recommended us a fabulous little Indian restaurant.

I googled a place that had beer and a garden in Harrogate and up popped this little gem.
5 ales on pump and a few good lagers as well as some lovely gins - it was a great place for us.
Good track and trace using a QR code, which meant no pen to touch which is great too.
Small front and back gardens, we were in the back which was lovely and very well spaced.
The beer (according to my other half) was excellent and their gin range was not too wide ranging (thank goodness!) but had something that would suit most gin drinkers.
Lovely, chilled atmosphere and it seemed like the chaps serving us really enjoyed what they were doing.
We liked it a lot.

Great little micropub with good efficient service and a range of beers to enjoy. We sat outside as it was warm enough with coats on just to have a quick drink before moving on to a restaurant. A little expensive we thought but then it is a micropub and we were in Harrogate.

Would visit again to sample more of their beers and maybe sit inside.
