A rather eclectic collection of stuff which will keep you interested for maybe half an hour. When we were there they had a special exhibition of costumes used in Jane Austen productions, so I expect that other temporary displays will happen in the future. We were lucky enough to arrive at the right time to be taken downstairs to see... More

Loved this museum and the highlight of having a trip down to see the stinking well, love the social history attached to this place and we use the soap sold in the gift shop.

Took advantage of the special offer after Xmas of £1 entrance fee. Interesting enough and worth visiting but don't expect too much. We spent 30 minutes in total which was sufficient to see everything.

Not a huge museum but had very nice displays. There was a music/poem recital on when I visited which gave it a lovely atmosphere. Very helpful staff.

The lady did not just tell us about the pump room, but why the wells sprung up all over Harrogate and the general history of the town - it was fab, and as we had just attended the Knitting and Sewing Show, the historical costumes on display was a bonus.

I think that this Pump room museum is one of Harrogate's hidden gems, it is a truly wonderful experience and well worth a visit. We qualified for a concession on our visit as we are over 65. I think we paid £2.90 each, and every penny was well spent. Period costumes are on display, plenty of exhibits well documented certainly... More

This is a great little museum. Well thought out and presented. The addition of the costumes from Jane Austen and Charlotte Bronte films were a bonus. The staff were very welcoming and informative. Enjoyed the brief tour into the basement to find out about the sulphur well. It only costs £4.00 an adult which is good value.

An absolute must if you want to see the sulphur well. Go when there is a tour due. They had a lovely and varied exhibition and selection of other items when we went taking in life in Harrogate, Edwardian clothing and egyptology!

This sounded a very interesting Museum. The reception was warm and we were given very clear instructions. The Museum has links to Agatha Christie, Egyptology through Howard Carter of Tutankhmun fame, Charles Dickens and The Tour de France. Assorted costumes from "Sense and Sensibility", "Jane Eyre" and "Mansfield Park" were on temporary display at the time of our visit. The... More
