This is a stunning area of parkland right in the heart of the town. It wraps itself round the middle of the town to three sides. There are great walking paths round it and through the it and you get great views. Quite special.

Harrogate has The Stray wrapped around it - an old parcel of land that developers must keep off! Great idea I think.

It's difficult to imagine until you see it just how big this area is, and in the town too. When we were there there was a lovely avenue of pink blossom trees running through one area. An absolutely great open space.

The Stray is a large area of green land in the centre of Harrogate. It is very pretty with its tree lined roads. Great for a walk or picnic in summer.

In the Spring the beautiful cherry trees in The Stray in full bloom are guaranteed to make your heart sing. The flowers in Harrogate are beautiful at any time of the year but T%he Stray is definitely at its best in Springtime.

This marvellous attribute to Harrogate is, like a lot of the town, as it is because of the Duchy of Lancaster. Thankfully development is not allowed, but it stays as a welcome attribute to the town. A green space that is crossed by paths. Changing...More

To have this expanse of space immediately adjacent to the centre of the town is probably unique ( Beverley is not so immediately adjacent). Whatever large ( and it is large) open spaces give the opportunity to then this does it too. Dog walking, cycling,...More
