About
The Aeropark is both an aviation museum and a viewing area where you can study the preserved planes of yesteryear or watch the modern airliners of today taking-off and landing at a growing international passenger and cargo airport. Within the Aeropark there is a viewing mound where the top of the viewing mound is just 170 meters north of the main east/west runway of the airport. The Aeropark at East Midlands Airport is located in the north-west corner of the Airport site close to the village of Castle Donington. It is well signposted from the Airport's main entrance.

    Watching the planes
Came here to show our little one the planes. It's Great afternoon out and only £5 entry. Lots of old planes to look at and a cockpit you can enter. A little cafe and a good view of the planes taking off. Not nearly enough picnic benches or I would have given it a 5. We'll definitely go back again.

Worth a visit if you are in the area.
The park is small and, run by volunteers with reasonable selection of aircraft. Entrance fee was £5 per adult. During my visit several aircraft was been prepared for re-painting. There are several view areas available of the runway of East Midlands Airport. Due to the location watching planes land from the east is not easy but this is due to the camber of the runway. The site offer a small cafe with usual drinks on sale at reasonable prices. Worth a visit it you are in the area.

    Well worth a fiver
The weather was awful, but nothing was going to hold me back from visiting the museum. Transport links were easy to get to and from the museum to the nearest train station, which was Long Eaton. The price for the museum is very good for the amount of aircraft they have there, and the Vulcan is worth the fiver alone. The shop has a good selection of books and magazines, there's also a café available. The only gripe I had was that the shop had no gifts promoting the museum. Mugs, pens, t-shirts, etc, that I could see from. Otherwise, a good trip and an enjoyable few hours.

    Interesting but beware.
Took 2 young grandchildren, and they were looking forward to looking inside some of the aircraft. However, it turned out that there was no one to open any of them up when we arrived. There was nothing to warn us before we went in, otherwise we would have come back another time. One did eventually open, but the length of the queue put us all off. I realise now that the park is run by volunteers and the entrance fees are not excessive. However, I think people should be warned in advance if not all the advertised attractions are available. All the ticket staff said was "you'll have to come back another time" Hmm!

    Sunday morning visit
I’ve lived in the East Midlands a while and never really knew this place existed. I visited with my son and on arrival there was still some space in the car park, it is pretty small and depends on everyone parking sensibly. No queue to get in, paid the admission fee and went in. They are all static exhibits and it was quite interesting . Not really more than an hours worth on a Sunday though, as although there are viewing mounds for East Midlands Airport, it wasn’t particularly busy for take offs and landings. Well worth a look, I’ve ticked it off but probably won’t be in a rush to return.

    Cargo Evening
Attended event organised by a YouTube streamer. Ticket had to be pre-purchased and attracted a booking fee. Plenty of carparking available. Difficult to get on mound as many people already there before 1800 hours. Only stayed for couple of hours as few arrivals and departures. Was a pleasant evening but won't be in hurry to return.

Come across this place by accident whilst taking my kids around the airport to show them the planes taking off.
Its well worth a visit.. Cheap and lovely location directly opposite the runway to see the planes come and go whilst having a picnic...
Some interesting vintage planes and helicopters and the volunteers were helpful and chatty whilst exploring within some of the planes.
Would highly recommend and Id suggest having a Much bigger cafe to bring in more revenue.
Also great to take kids who are nervous of flying 👌👍

Great place for us to bring the family, spend a few hours and bring a picnic. Whether walking around the static displays, or sat on top of the hill watching the aircraft from EMA come and go.

Certainly is not an expensive day out like the previous review says.. £5 for Adults, free for kids under a certain age.

Only thing I’d like to see improve, is when an aircraft you visit closes because the person over seeing it is on lunch/break, would be nice to see a sign with a reopening time.

Though a little expensive to get in, this is an absolutely wonderful day out. My Dad and I took my nephews last weekend and we had such a lovely time. My nephews (especially the youngest who is 1) absolutely loved it and loved to see all of the planes. It was so interesting and we even got to go inside of one of the helicopters which was just amazing. Highly recommended for all ages and great if you have an hour or two and want something to do

First visit and very impressed. Friendly staff and visitors. Park is very clean and well laid out. Some exhibits open on day I visited - Vanguard flightdeck and Nimrod. Plenty of interest in Vulcan. Inside facilities very clean. Outside viewing area has plenty of picnic tables and as expected, no litter. Unfortunately, wind direction meant aircraft already airborne. Highlight of visit was Silk Way B747F arriving, parked at DHL terminal. Must go back to see rest of display. Hope they manage to open more than Thursday, Saturday and Sunday as at present. Entry prices very reasonable and plenty of free carparking. Have recommended to fellow avgeeks!
