I visited with my son and daughter for a walk to see the snowdrops. It was beautiful, a gorgeous setting and we had a lovely time. There's a little swing/slide/climbing frame which kept the little ones entertained. We stopped in the tea rooms for a drink and cake and weren't disappointed. The cakes are delicious and everyone is very friendly... More

A pleasant couple of hours walking in excellently kept woodland and gardens in the Derbyshire Dales. The walk was made easier with well maintained and excellent footpaths. The facilities are excellent with pleasant, friendly and very helpful staff. A visit to the cafe is a must. Coffee and Carrot cake was delicious.

I was lucky enough to visit Hopton on a lovely sunny day. The chaps at the entrance are friendly and welcoming, the walk well set out with gravel and chipped bark paths. There are spectacular drifts of snowdrops and yellow aconites in the woodland walk, which continues round the outside of the historic house and into the terraced rose garden.... More

We really enjoyed a couple of hours wandering around the woodland and gardens looking at the snowdrops, taking photos of the pheasants near the lake and tasting the gorgeous scones in the tea room. The highlight was the amazing staff so friendly and welcoming... A big thank you to the car park attendants and tea room staff!

A great place to visit this time of year as the snowdrops are lovely! Entry is £4 this year which is reasonable, and there is a proper path to follow. Not a great long ramble, more of a gentle stroll place! The cafe is good with home made fayre and staff all pleasant and helpful. A nice trip out!

We heard about Hopton Hall snowdrops because of the leaflet in our hotel and visited on the way back from Dovedale. It was simply beautiful. The snowdrops and aconites were extremely pretty surrounded by the snow. We will be back in the summer to see the summer garden too. Thank you so much.

Hopton Hall gardens are well worth a visit in early spring when the snowdrops are in bloom. We visited them for the first time in early February and had a very enjoyable outing. The snowdrops and aconites are planted in drifts in a small area of woodland and a well sign-posted path takes visitors through the spring bulbs, past the... More

I had been before with the children and they do have a small play area. This time I went with friends. I felt it was expensive to get in (considering you are literally just walking around a very small garden) and the level of snowdrops was very disappointing as it was the height of the season. You could have seen... More

We’re sorry that you didn’t find our Snowdrops as pleasing as we do, perhaps mother nature wasn’t smiling on us for the day of your visit. We take feedback here and from talking to our visitors, as you can see from previous reviews many... More

We have visited the area many time but came across Hopton Hall Gardens and tea rooms by chance. We had a lovely morning walking around the formal garden and then homemade cake and coffee. It really is worth spending a few hours here. There is lots of beautiful roses that smell gorgeous. The website says it's difficult access for wheelchairs... More

Hopton Hall is familiar to me because I have visited the holiday cottages here on more than one occasion. As a family, we have enjoyed trips around the gardens, especially at snowdrop time. The gardens don't feel quite as formal as those in a National Trust property and they're not as extensive as somewhere like Chatsworth. Hopton has the feel... More
