As an experienced escape roomer (c15 games), we found this one to be brilliant. There were some great electronics and complex puzzles which were unique to the room. I'm looking forward to going back once the new venue is set up!

First time doing an escape room, what a thrill.
Lovely host, awesome room/game, family friendly. Youngest was nervous but didn’t want it to finish in the end.

I'm glad to hear you all had a fantastic time, especially the youngest player. There is always an easy route to exit our games in case of an emergency or if a player is a bit nervous, but we hope that as soon as you start playing you are immersed in the set/story and forget any worries and start enjoying the experience!

One of the best escape rooms we have tried. Wonderful host and really well thought out interesting room with a great storyline. perfect mix of hard and easy clues...loved the whole experience. So glad we discovered this little gem because finding a good escape room is sometimes the hardest puzzle.

Had heard only good things about Co-Decode's rooms so I was glad to finally get to see for myself. My mum and I played Professor Dunstan and the search for the Ancient Statuette which was another successful mission to us relatively experienced players. The good thing with this company is you can adjust the difficulty level to give you more puzzles to solve in the room. We played on medium difficulty as there was only 2 of us and thought that was a safer option. Our host and games master, Alex, was very friendly and we agreed that he would only give us help or hints if we asked or if we were completely heading in the wrong direction with something. This worked out well and we only needed help on a few ocassions. The puzzles in this game were very unique which I always love, especially as I've played 60 games now, so it's nice to see new concepts. The game had good themeing throughout and its clear a lot of time and effort has gone into building the room and setting the scene. We completed the game with 1 minute 24 seconds left so again, I'm glad we didn't go for the harder difficulty setting!
I look forward to going back in the future to try out the other 2 games on offer and would definitely recommend Co-decode to anyone looking to play a game that stands up to it's positive reviews.

Thanks for the in-depth review of your visit, it's great to hear what you particularly enjoyed and it was a fun game for me to run :)
You'll be pleased to know that Sub Terra also has scalable difficulty, although it functions a bit differently, so we're always trying to cater for both experienced and first-time players.
We look forward to welcoming you back, perhaps in our shiny new venue once we've moved :D

Great fun had by 3 generations. a series of challenging puzzles were solved, mostly independently, but Alex was on screen to give a timely hint when we got stuck. a full mix of puzzles - recommended for teams who like both to think laterally but also take note of everything around them.

We did Sub Terra, one of the best rooms I've experienced (I'm a bit of an escape room nerd, have done probably hundreds). Excellent puzzles, non-linear so all our team had things to do, really good set design and tech.

We came here en route to London as about halfway from our home.
Sadly, we were late getting there, but Alex was so good and allowed us to continue.
We did the hard game of Professor Dunstan. It was lovely to see all my family working together and having a laugh.
It was well set up, and little hints were provided when we needed it.
We did get a little lost getting to the building. Make sure you just follow instructions on the website.

A very close game, but you still did well on the 'hard' setting and we're glad you enjoyed it even though not quite escaping. Fun family times is what we're all about :)

We came to play ‘The Crew’, a 4 player starship simulator game and had a great time! The puzzles were fun and engaging but also fairly challenging. All the high quality components worked well together and have clearly been designed with a lot of care and attention to detail. Alex was really friendly and keen to help answer our questions; we were given the right amount of nudges throughout the game too. If you’re looking for a classic escape room experience, I would recommend Professor Dunstan also at Co Decode but if you fancy a team based puzzle game, The Crew may just be for you! Will definitely be back to try out the other room soon :-)

CREW is quite a bit different to a regular escape room, as you say, so we recommend players check the 'what to expect' section on our website first. We now have a range of experiences, so hopefully something to please everyone!

Another amazing game at Code Decode! Our family have already played the first two rooms (and loved them) and returned to play the new room “Crew”.
It’s not technically an escape room, instead a spaceship-themed puzzle room with each of the four players with dedicated roles. You have to be able to communicate well and all work together, and instead of trying to escape, you’re trying to beat as many puzzles as possible.
We loved it! Totally unique and awesome fun as we tried to figure out how to solve each one. The puzzles generate randomly so continue until your time runs out (90 mins) so you get your full moneys worth and a real plus point is you could go back and replay the room, either to try and beat your previous score or play in a different role.
The escape/puzzle experiences at Code Decode are some of the best we’ve ever played - if you’re not sure whether to book, do!

Is this a family day out or just a game for me and friends?

Hi, we are suitable for families as well as groups of adult friends. Our games are 60 minutes long, so it's certainly best to think of them as a fun group activity rather than an entire day out.

We recommend a minimum age of 10 years so that all players are able to engage with the puzzles.
Under 16s must be accompanied by at least one adult who is also playing the game - a good ratio is one adult per every two under 16s
