    Hilarious tractor driver
Haven’t been for a while but went with family including a 10 and 12 year old. Even though they were too old for Easter event they still enjoyed the animals, indoor play area and the tractor ride was fantastic. Not sure on the name of the tractor driver but he was so funny it made our day!

    Disappointing.
Disappointing. I expected a lot more for the money to be honest. Nearly £50 got 4 of us & definitely not worth it! I spent the whole 2 hours annoyed at having wasted that much money! Very run down, it needs a lot of money spent on it. Bins overflowing at 10.30 in the morning. Very small, no more than 2 hours needed, 15 minutes of which was stood in the queue to order food at the cafe. When we were there one of the first activities was meeting the goats, naturally it was incredibly busy to start so we held back, eldest daughter is autistic and we tend to avoid the crowds. When we did go over we were then told that the activity had finished and we had to leave the area so they could prepare for the next activity … The discovery wood was closed off, presumably due to how much rain there had been. However, when you’re paying a lot of money for not a lot, to then have part of it closed off is annoying. The ‘paddock’ was rubbish. Barely any animals outside. The cafe was very expensive!! We ordered food to takeaway, charged full price for meals that we didn’t get the sides for - no salad for the baguettes. No beans with nuggets & chips. If it wasn’t for the fact that we were starving & wanted to get out of there I wouldn’t have bothered. The sausage roll however was delicious! The first set of toilets I went in was absolutely disgusting. They were outside near to where you cross the road to go to the paddocks. Rubbish in the corridor, cobwebs, full bin, one of the toilets was blocked. The other toilets were just filthy and had bugs in the cubicle. I went to complain to reception but a long queue of people waiting to come in, and only 1 person at the counter. There were other toilets by the cafe which were much better. The highlight was seeing twin lambs being born. Will not be going back again & would not recommend to others. When you compare to other farm parks, such as the Cotswold farm park, roves farm is really not worth the money or the time.

    Fantastic day out
Currently writing this review whilst sat in the cafe as i don’t feel i can wait until i get home. What a fantastic day the family have had here at Roves farm today. Amazing value for money so much to see and do the play parks inside and out are suitable for children of all ages. Wash stations everywhere to clean hands after freely being able to pet the animals just brilliant. The staff are great our highlight was the tractor ride. Gorgeous food and drink. This was a random day trip which has ended up being the highlight of our weekend.

    Last visit
Have always loved Roves Farm but sadly I think my recent visit will def be the last. I took my two sons aged 1 and 5 and for the three of us to get in and a tractor ride it cost me £35! For what is there, it is def not worth that amount of money. It's a real shame as I remember previous visits and it being affordable but sadly the pricing of the tickets and what is on offer isn't really worth a visit again, especially it being cheaper to visit cotsworld wildlife park.

    Unimpressed
Although they have created a really nice gift shop, which must have been very expensive, I was disappointed that they hadn’t provided more facilities for toddlers, no ball pit, no trampoline and the soft play was old and dated and hardly anything there. There was barely nothing in the sensory area, nothing what interested my 19 month old grandson anyway. I was also disappointed in the food, fat chips kept in a warm tray which were unpleasant and cold, no selection of home made cakes other than a Victoria sandwich cake which was dense and the cream was awful. I am a pensioner and it cost £19 for and a nineteen month old and myself, the cost of the food which we couldn’t eat. It is a great place for older children, but very little to do for young children to. I was very disappointed and the only farm animals we could see in the barn were pigs, everything else was turned out. More money should have been put into updating and catering for the younger children.

Great family friendly day out with lots of interactive sessions!
We love Roves and have signed up for membership at the farm because we visit so often. We've been many times now and our daughter LOVES how interactive the farm is. We always try to go early to avoid the rush and this morning we almost had the whole farm to ourselves! The farm is great value for money with multiple activities and soft play included with the entry fee. The tractor ride is well worth the extra couple of pounds and the driver's commentary is always a giggle for the grown ups especially! I've seen lots of reviews recently saying that it's run down, but I think the reality is that it's a small working family farm. It might not be as glamorous as other similar attractions but it's clean, looked after and clearly loved by a great team of people and we love visiting. Keira in particular stood out today, engaging with my daughter and chatting with me whilst we petted the rabbits and fed the goats. You really can't go wrong at Roves Farm.

    Brilliant Christmas Experience
We visited as part of the Christmas Experience. Driving up to the farm we wondered what we had let ourselves in for not having visited before. However, we need not have worried as the whole day was excellent. Feeding the goats and interaction with the rabbits and guinea pigs was great, seeing the pigs and alpaca was interesting, the Father Christmas trip was excellently done, the inside play area had lots of entertainment and challenges for the children - including the rabbit warren and ride on tractors as well as a large area inside for food and there was an excellent selection of hot and cold food available throughout the day. There was also a craft area for the children which was a good contrast to the running around. The outdoor area was also good even though it had been raining. We stayed for about five and a half hours and struggled to get the children to leave. The staff were all really helpful and friendly. I would really recommend.
Thank you so much for your in-depth review. It really does mean a lot to our team who work very hard to make our Christmas Experience as magical as possible! We hope to welcome you back again soon.

Think we caught them on a bad day?

Visited last year and had a great time so decided to visit again.

First issue was we ordered some slushes and icecreams at the cafe, spent nearly £25 on just a few snacks. One of the icecream had a vile taste to it so went back to complain and felt this wasn't dealt with nicely. No offer to help, opportunity to move bad icecream off and a new scoop on, just got met with "it tastes the same as it always does". Felt the manager was very rude and not understanding. Icecream and slushes have a huge markup, would it have really mattered to have just given one scoop for free?

Then we did the petting at 3.30, animals are just dumped into areas and no staff are there to advise anything about them, can you pick them up, can you even touch them... you just have to decide for yourself. We asked a member of staff what breed the piglets were and he responded "the pork kind". We know pigs so we didn't find that funny and he was stand offish and a bit rude also.

After these 2 encounters we disappeared to the den building and spent hours hiding in the woods! This bit was fab and made the day for us.

Lady on reception also was lovely and gave us some tokens FOC because she couldn't take any cash.

Not sure if we will visit again.

We LOVE Roves Farm! My daughter and I have been coming regularly for the last 10 years and we’re yet to become bored. The animals are all so well cared for and friendly - today my daughter got nose kisses from a goat kid who seemed very happy to play with her while Mummy goat watched on. The Meet the Animals activity is both of our favourites and today I was really impressed by how the staff member stepped in to tell the boisterous children to step back as they were scaring the baby animals - letting me cuddle the 6 day old piglet so she didn’t get stepped on made my day, never mind my daughters! We always have a lovely lunch and, although she prefers to stay with the animals now, my daughter used to love the play areas too. Having been here as a child myself, I can see how much love and work has gone into updating the farm for the benefit of the animals and the visitors.

My only suggestion from today is around the pricing - I explained to the chap on reception that my daughter had grown out of seeing the Easter Bunny and that we wouldn’t be doing the trail, but we weren’t allowed to buy an adult ticket for her. The extra £5/£6 seemed steep knowing that we wouldn’t benefit from the extras available. If there was a way to differentiate between those who had paid the lower adult price (blue band for example) and the significantly higher child price (different coloured bands?), this might be helpful to those with older children who don’t want to do the themed activities. A great time was had regardless :)

Thank you for your review of Roves Farm. Your comprehensive feedback is appreciated and we take time to read all reviews, both positive and negative to try and address issues and make improvements where we can. We take pride in looking after our animals and our experienced staff are always chuffed to see that this is recognised my our visitors, so thank you! Further to your feedback for a ticket option for older children, we are looking at ways of tweaking our ticketing to take older children into account for events such as Easter. So lovely to hear we are one of your favourite days out, thank you for visiting and supporting us over the last ten years! We hope to welcome you back to the farm very soon.

My family have just returned from the most wonderful day out at Roves Farm which is an actual working farm. There is so much to do it's hard to pack it all into the visit. Its half term and they are running activities every half hour and you can plan your day because it's all available to see on the activity board as you arrive. We got involved with the music time session which was so much fun, we also fed the animals, brushed the ponies and rabbits, had a bumpy tractor with Ricky who had everyone in fits of laughter with his running commentary and my favourite activity today was animal arithmetic I'm gonna leave you guessing as to what that was you need to visit for yourself and see.
After a yummy lunch the children played on the massive indoor play area which has awesome tunnels to play it they call it The Rabbit Warren. Everyone there was so friendly and really engaged with the children. And a bonus is its great value for money. We had a quick visit to their farm shop before we left which includes a butchery and some homemade pies and cakes. Can't recommend enough.

This was our second visit to Roves Farm and had enjoyed the separate toddler softplay area for our little crawler. We went on a Monday afternoon so it would be a bit quieter than the weekend. Unfortunately this time within the under 3 area there were 2 girls around 8-10 and 2 other children around 5-6 running around screaming and chasing each other. The other parent of a toddler looked as uncomfortable as I was, so out loud I said to them (where the adult with the 4 older children could hear) “it’s very unsafe for older kids to be in here isn’t it” the woman didn’t seem to care and the children kept playing one going down the slide almost hitting my baby who was crawling around. There is a sign in the area stating 3 year olds and under. They eventually left but soon the little boy returned and he was running around shouting and then got extremely close to my child where I had to put a hand out to guard her. I asked him how old he was, he said five, so I replied “oh wow, but I think you’re a bit too big for this area” to which he replied, “I live here (pointed to his Roves Farm hat) I can do what I want” he then continued shouting and throwing himself around the area. We ended up leaving after only being there a short time.

I will not return to this place, if the owners allow their children to behave like that with the mentality they can do what they want, while paying guests have to suffer. I can understand after hours, when closed, they can play anywhere, but it is very dangerous for older kids to be running and jumping around babies, especially when they have their own area to play in. The child’s name was Charlie, so if you go beware of these children. It’s one thing to raise animals, it’s another thing to raise children, I would advise the owners to not let their children behave like animals.

Lovely place to stop but not stop and eat. I ordered a tuna sandwich. When I got it the bread was dry, no garnish and so dry to swallow. We also got a cheese toastie when that came the cheese was still hard inside, I returned it to be reheated, there was no smile, no apology just an expressionless face and same when it was returned to us, which I will state that the toastie was left with just one bite taken from it.

I'm really suprised about this as I shop in the butchery dept all the time, all the staff are amazing. The cafe staff, quality and presentation of the food doesn't reflect the high price that's charged. Feel very let down.

We used to have membership here when my kids (now aged 11) were younger as it was so good - I haven’t been for about 3 or 4 years and I am absolutely NOT impressed following my visit on 29th Oct . We went with a friend who has a 3 year old.
The price for 3 of us was just over £40 - it used to be less than that for a monthly membership for a family of 4!!!
The food in the cafe used to be really good, and it was enjoyed by all of us - but the food standard and amount has gone down. My children had half a jacket potato , and the garnish was 3 quarters of cucumber - at a cost that I’m sorry to say isn’t worth it
The tractor ride is also an extra cost now , which was always included in the admission price
I am genuinely really sad that my visit wasn’t as good - I understand that prices everywhere have gone up but I feel the standard provided has gone down
Very disappointed

I was totally shocked today Visiting Roves Farm, I went many years ago with my two older children and have very fun memories.
But the place has gone down Hill dramatically.

When we arrived, Instantly I felt it was Very rundown and not kept nice, Weeds everywhere, Plant pots with dead flowers in.
These are the months when the place should look its best with lovely flowers.
The picnic benches needed some TLC they were rundown they needed sanding and revarnishing, playground outside the bark was not underneath the swings and you can see the membrane, Which could be very dangerous if a child falls off.
We did eat in the café and the food was fine, but there were dirty tables and food all over the floor which is why the place was overrun by flies which If I’m honest, made me feel really sick.
The toilet were dirty and the hand dryer did not work.

The Animals were very sweet but sadly i felt the barns Absolutely stunk, from someone that was Brought up with animals and on the farm myself.
I feel the smell was due to the fact the beds are not cleaned enough. Which is worrying.

What was really shocking was in the donkeys Field where there was random bits of wood on the floor with Nails in, sticking up l, which clearly is very dangerous for any animal.

We went on the tractor ride, which was really good, but you pay extra And some families might not do that as well as paying to get it.

When we were leaving, I left some feedback with the lady at reception and if im honest her reaction was a bit strange, she wasn’t shocked or even said sorry that you had this experience. She just said I would forward on your feedback. I did say to her it’s a shame as we won’t be coming back and I would worry other people feel like this and her reply, was we have lots of members? I feel that’s not the point and if I was a member, I definitely would not be renewing my membership.

I would say that for the prices now being charged at roves farm there are better places to spend your money. On a normal day the price is almost £11 to get in regardless of adult or child and when they have an “event” (which means you get some entertainment on the tractor ride) it’s around £15. In days gone by the price was the same regardless of what activities they had going on. Also in the past you had access to the craft throughout the day and not just limited to a time slot. They now have Cars and diggers which take tokens (cost£1) or £1 coins, and a larger more expensive gift shop. You used to get a little map and timetable when you arrived but these again have disappeared and it’s not always clear where to go for the activities especially if you haven’t been before. We went to do some den building on our trip and the girl doing it didn’t engage with the children it was more of a matter of well there’s a pile of sticks and off you go. The interaction was so much better when we’ve been before. We were ignored when trying to buy ice cream due to the farm shop seemingly getting priority and we couldn’t get any food in the cafe after 2:30 which for a place open till 5pm selling full price tickets all day (not reduced if you go after a certain time) you would expect to be offered the same facilities if you go in the afternoon as someone going in the morning. If the facilities are not open then reduce your ticket prices for those going later in the day and/or make people aware that they will not be getting the same as those going in the morning. We were told that they don’t have a need for the cafe to be serving because most people have gone by 3:00. Also a lot of the activities are on earlier in the day. Apart from the tractor which ends at 3:30 and animal feeding which the last one was 3:30. So my advice would be to go early to get the most out of it, and take a packed lunch because the cafe is quite expensive when they are servicing that is. It’s not a bad day out but comparing it to how it used to be it’s got expensive and the service they are offering has gone down in my opinion. Kids will enjoy it though so if you haven’t been before and your not worried about the cost then it is a worthwhile day out.

Still good to visit even in February, though there were no themes or animal racing. Not as busy as usual so lamb feeding was easier with a good amount of time to feed.
The tractor ride is now paid for extra - not a lot to see at this time of year, but they enjoyed bumping about. Liked being in the animal barns without them being crowded. Pleased to see there were no money grabbing commercial rides, hopefully they've been discarded.
The indoor play area is always great - very safe and fun for all ages. 2 year old enjoyed the activities in there as well.
Food is very good with reasonable amount of choice and prices.

5/5 experience! me and the family went with tweens not knowing what to expect , it’s definitely an experience mainly for the little children but even us adults had a blast holding and playing with all different types of animals like pigs, sheep, goats, guinea pigs, rabbits and even a snail and tortoise! the cafe is lovely with great selection of food and massive play area! a cute little shop as well with fresh food and veg. our favourite part of the day was the tractor ride for £1.50 and the lady sarah had us in stitches with her jokes and the vast variety of knowledge she told us! if we go again it will definitely be for sarah aha!
