Quaint little local pub but serving fabulous food once again. The Wednesday pie night had us eating really very good meat pies with various fillings; it is so welcome to find a chef who'll give you a pie with a yummy pastry case bottom as well as top these days. Well done Dave. The puddings likewise were delicious and light -... More

Vitsited for a Third time for Tueday lunch with all the Family. The kids ate everything, they even enjoyed the Batter on the Fish. I had Rib-eye Steak, cooked medium rare, absolutely delicious, a credit to the New Chef. I have cruised 5 times and can say the Chef beats any of their cookings that I have experienced.

The steak arrived with a total of 24 salad tomatos and one little jem lettuce leaf. When approached... More

A nice friendly country pub within easy walking distance of The Allscott Mill B&B where we stayed the night . Good choice of drought beers. But the food - Wow. We were astounded at the quality and presentation of our meal. Very good value. Really quite unexpected from a small country pub. Such a pity we were just passing through.... More

After visiting for Sunday lunch and trying the new chefs wares we decided to also try their weekday value Bar Lunch Menu. Can honestly say it was fantastic Value for what was home cooked and well presented food. The jerk ham as super and the fish and chips was better than the average standard bar food. Well done to all.... More

Called The Plough on the spur of the moment, to see it we could get a last minute table for Sunday lunch. The lady who answered the phone was most friendly and said we were most welcome to bring our dog with us. The welcome we received was no less friendly. The landlord was very chatty whilst the landlady and... More
