    Excellent visit
Our first visit and we were very impressed by everything on the site. Staff were friendly, buildings were very interesting to view and the place was exceptionally tidy and well kept. Good to see plenty of animals, all in spacious surroundings. We had a cream tea in Dotty's which was most enjoyable and at a very reasonable price. An excellent place to visit.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience of our site. We are thrilled to hear that your first visit left such a great impression on you. Our team work hard to create an atmosphere, so it's heart-warming to know that their efforts were appreciated. We take great pride in maintaining our buildings and surroundings, so it's delightful to hear that you found everything exceptionally tidy and well-kept. Providing spacious and comfortable surroundings for our animals is a top priority for us, and we're glad that you and yours appreciated this. Our team strives to offer delicious treats at reasonable prices, and it's wonderful to know that you found our catering most enjoyable. Thank you for considering our site an excellent place to visit. Your kind words mean a lot to us and we look forward to welcoming you back soon for another wonderful experience.

Great day out for the kids
Overall a great day out with granddaughters in the summer holidays on a drizzly, cloudy day. We visited the big top for all 3 performances and the kids loved it. We made the most of all the facilities and so it was quite an expensive day out for entry, food, drinks and pot painting but well worth it. The only reason I deducted one star was due to the cleanliness of the toilets and eateries. The tables were sticky and the other buildings needed a bit of TLC. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are delighted to hear that you had a great day out with your granddaughters at our event, despite the drizzly weather! It brings us immense joy to know the kids loved the performances in the big top and that you were able to make the most of all the facilities we offer. We appreciate your feedback regarding the cleanliness of the tables. Please accept our sincere apologies. We take cleanliness and maintenance very seriously, and we will address these issues immediately for a better experience for future visitors. On a positive note, we thrilled that you found our staff be friendly and helpful. Thank you for your valuable feedback We genuinely appreciate your review and we look forward welcoming you again in the future.

Nice place, but better suited to those with children.
Due to staying close by and loving animals, we popped over. It was nice a quick getting inside and the tickets are pretty reasonable at £12 per adult. On admission, we purchased animal feed at £1 per bag. There were plenty of pigs, goats, sheep and alpacas to feed. They also have a selection of birds of prey that you can get up close to. There are plenty of things for young children to do, such as the indoor or outdoor play areas, as well as a tractor ride. After looking around at the rest of the animal such as chickens, turkeys, rabbits and guinea pigs, we headed off. The place is located close to the river medway, which makes for a nice walk after.
Thank you for talking about your experience at our park. We're glad that you found the process of getting inside quick and the ticket prices were reasonable. We're also pleased to know that you found plenty of our activities enjoyable for young children, including our outdoor areas and tractor ride. We hope to see you again in the future!

A great place for the kids. Wonderful animals and good facilities.
We have been visitors at Kent Life for many years. It’s a great place to go with young children. Lots of animals to see and feed and great facilities such as play areas and indoor soft play as well as picnic areas and cafe etc. Let down today by ferrets cage in quite bad condition but everything else was fab as always. Our favourite is cuddle corner but please do not let your children pull the animals about or hurt them which I did see today sadly. Staff had to intervene, rightly so. Beautiful bunnies and guinea pigs to stroke. Kids love it.
Thank you for sharing your experience at Kent Life Heritage Park. We appreciate your support and to hear that you and your young children enjoy your visits to our park. We take great pride in a wide range of animals, play areas, indoor soft play, picnic areas, and a café to enhance your family's experience. We will address this comment of our ferret space promptly to ensure that it displays our high standards. Our team are dedicated to ensuring the animals are cared for and respected. We kindly agree that all visitors can refrain from upsetting any animals, and we are glad to hear that our team intervened and educated appropriately. We strive to create a loving and educational environment for children to enjoy and learn about animals. Once again, we thank you your feedback and look forward to welcoming you and yours back to Kent Life again in the future.

5 out of 5.. Amazing, I love this place..
Well where to start. We came at the weekend for my cousins wedding. The organisation was brilliant from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious and there was nothing too much trouble for the staff. They did an amazing job catering for everyone's needs. They all went above and beyond all expectations. We had such a lovely day. Thank you to all. We also came the day after, had a tractor ride and fed the animals. They're all well looked after and loved by the staff. The eating areas were very clean, the children's meals in the tea rooms were real value for money. And I can vouch that the pizza from the pizza bar was delicious. An amazing day out. We've been a few times now, as a couple and with family and will definitely return.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're delighted to hear that you had such a fantastic experience from start to finish. Our dedicated team takes great pride in providing exceptional service and ensuring that every guest's needs are met. It's wonderful to hear that the food was delicious and that our wedding suppliers went above and beyond to cater to everyone's dietary requirements. We're thrilled that you also had a great time exploring our 28-acre farm and interacting with our animals. Our staff work hard to ensure the animals are well taken care of and loved. It's fantastic to know that you found the eating areas clean and enjoyed the value for money offered in our tea rooms. We're glad you loved the pizza as well! We truly appreciate your continued support and are honoured to have become a go-to destination for you and your family. We look forward to welcoming you back for more memorable experiences in the future.

    Love this place
I love it here. A membership for £40 to go as many times as you like for a whole year with your toddler is just so worth it! Really big mention to Joshua who was in charge of the cuddle corner. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. He got all of the animals out for our two children. He spoke to us about the piglets, he asked us about our day. It was so nice to see someone who thoroughly loved their job! Also the young man in charge of the owls was fantastic. We were highly entertained by teacup the owl who wouldn’t get off his head.
Good Day, We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your kind words and the 5-star rating you have given us. Our team takes great pride in providing exceptional service and ensuring that every customer has a memorable experience. We are delighted to hear that Joshua and the gentleman at the Owl Academy played a part in making your visit even more enjoyable. If there is anything else we can do to make your next visit even more memorable, please do not hesitate to let us know. Once again, thank you for your kind words and positive feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Best Regards,

    Father Christmas
Just visited here today to take my two year old to see Santa. I booked in advance when the tickets came out for the 15.45pm slot. Arrived as I am a member I know Kent life pretty well so didn’t stay as long as I usually would as it was freeeezing! My son went on the tractor ride but there was a bit of a queue so be prepared! Looked at some of the smaller animals and headed to where Father Christmas was, there was a slight queue but it did go down quickly! Santa was good with my son but it is disappointing that he doesn’t give the children their gifts, you go to a “toy shop”, my son got a tractor which he loved but it is a bit rubbish that all the toys are displayed in-front of them to pick! Takes the magic out of it. All round was good but not sure I will go back next year! Take wellies its muddy!
Dear Hellymcg, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We truly value both your kindness and honesty in sharing your thoughts with us. We understand that the demand for seeing Santa and the logistics of managing the number of gifts involved can be quite challenging. In order to ensure that every visitor has a memorable experience, the Kent Life team made the decision to streamline the process by not giving out gifts with Santa and letting each child pick their individual gift. However, we appreciate your feedback and will carefully consider it for next year's event to further enhance the experience for children and their families. We hope to see you again soon at Kent Life! Best Regards,

    Great Family Day Out
A Great day out to see Santa. But maybe not quite as good as last years visit. Last year I'm pretty sure the kids received a letter before our trip. Not this year. The park was as good as always and the variety of things to do for the money was very good indeed. Shame the Christmas land train wasn't running and it was a tractor and trailer. Didn't quite have the same feel but good none the less. Santa was excellent, Love that the kids can choose their gift as it guarantees a liked present. Food and drink prices very reasonable for an attraction, staff were good as always, especially the Elf school teacher who was awesome. In general i would say go here to see Santa if you want value for money. I'm giving it 5 stars because it was a great family day out to see Santa and maybe we were comparing it to last year and it fell ever so slightly short of that in our opinion. I'm sure if we had never been before, we would have been amazingly happy with our day.

    Farm ‘NOT’ petting zoo!
Well signposted just before arrival. Car park gets very busy & you may end up in the “Over Over Overflow” field. Online only bookings (Absolutely hate when businesses do this). Straight into farm/park?? 👍🏻. Purchased animal feed, love feeding the goats etc , only to spend at least 45 minutes before we could find any we were to allowed to feed, (I fully appreciate that some animals have strict diets). Meerkat’s inclosure leaves a little to be desired. The Owls, although a little random, we’re nice to see. Tractor rides around the farm pretty good & very friendly driver. Nice pizza area, cooked to order. Just not anywhere near enough animal interaction, for kids of any age…. There are hundreds of animal places in the south east & for a lot less money… 3/5 is being generous… Please don’t let this review put you off, try it & prove me wrong ……

WE visited to view the location as a possible venue for our son's wedding next year.
Great place to entertain kids but not great as a wedding venue as some buildings looked tired.

Play area is great. Kids really enjoyed seeing the animals. Man who did the talk was really knowledgeable about the animals. Loved the traffic ride and driver was really friendly and great with kids.

Shop understaffed. Big queues and only one person on till, with another staff member standing absentmindedly next to them. Very frustrating having to wait with impatient children. Could be managed better.

Had a brilliant day but shop let it down.

We recently purchased an annual ticket after enjoying our visit so much in the Easter holidays.
There is lots to do come rain or shine, we especially enjoyed the entertainment team who put on such fun shows for the children and adults. They even walk around Kent life entertaining people.
Love the tractor and the village hall that's opened for picnics in the holidays.

Visited on a Thursday lunchtime and was immediately surprised how tired and under maintained the place is since our last visit many years ago it’s definitely not the place i remember going to with my kids when they were younger and it’s total disregard of health and safety is quite an eye opener, the toilets are less than desirable and need a deep clean and updating, the whole site is really disappointing and not value for money, I would advise people to spend there money elsewhere and steer clear of this sad place that was once a wonderful place to visit and create memories.

Lots of farm animals from a horse to alpacas, in which I enjoyed seeing there is an old victorian school area to explore, a art area for younger children (if your children are into arts and crafts) and some buildings and a couple of shops to explore

Had a lovely day out together with our daughter, our friends and their children over the Easter weekend. Apart from the lack of toilet facilités (especially when the Big Top show finishes!!!) we had a good day.

The farm has plenty to do to keep children entertained all day, however has lost its appeal to those without children (or those with older children) as it doesn’t offer much to that demographic any more, which is a shame. It would be nice to see some more history or something to keep adults busy.

Another fantastic day out. Visited over Easter weekend with grandchildren and enjoyed all the extra Easter activities that had been organised.
Been a while since we visited and can see how much work has been done to improve the facilities.

Village hall cafe was great addition brought the place to life.

Our grandchildren love wandering around the old houses playing the piano and learning about how things used too be.

Lamb feeding and owls were great and we even got chance to see the giant tortoise up close as well as the Shetland pony and goats.

The 3 Easter shows throughout the day were entertaining and the boys loved the disco at the end.

Look forward to visiting again soon.

We visited Kent Life on our 2024 Easter family holiday with our two young children. I distinctly remember visiting the Life of Kent Museum as child aged around 10. I remember the 1950s farmhouse, the Oast houses and learning about hop farming and production (which I never knew before I visited). I enjoyed my visit in the 2000s…
Fast forward 20 years, I was really disappointed. It’s not the place I remembered in my childhood memories. It’s no longer an open-air museum, rather a dirty adventure play park and dissatisfactory petting zoo.
I get that museums have to be family friendly and engaging for children, but building a soft play centre in a 17th century bar is disgraceful!!
A large outdoor play area, tractor train rides, ice cream kiosk and automated singing rabbits completely distract our children away from learning how life was lived generations before us.
There’s no wonder todays generation feel so entitled and self-privileged when opportunities to learn about our heritage is interrupted by commercial greed to attract more recurring visitors. This is evident by the annual membership scheme and the theme park like retail invasion of the historic buildings. There’s not much 1950s about the tearooms other than the colour of the paint on the walls. (I’m fairly sure pizza gardens didn’t exist back then either!) The traditional vintage village hall has nothing to admire as it’s been turned into a coffee and cake shop. The forge was none-functioning and had been taken over by a local charity pestering for pay-monthly subscription donations. The cart houses were paint a pot activity (which we avoided for the fear of an additional cost). It’s such a shame to see the museum parts of the venue in such disrepair and derelict state. Most of the houses had their staircases blocked off so you couldn’t explore upstairs (presumably for safety and lack of maintenance reasons). The exhibits in the houses were dusty, dirty and without information. The buildings really showed a lack of care taken for them. Rotten window frames, overgrown gardens, leaky roofs, peeling plaster off the walls. It was such a shame to see. Those people who spent years rebuilding and recreating this historic buildings must be really disappointed. Also the old farm machinery pushed away into the hedge backs, such a shame to be left rot away and forgotten forever.
Although it’s not a living museum anymore, you can see that effort has been made to make the place fun and interesting for young children. Our kids would say they had a great time! But they say the same when we visit our local play park. This place tries too hard to be that, a fun park, not a museum. Best part of the day was the entertainment team in the big top. Not amazing but it was enjoyable, interactive and we all got a free cream egg from it, (which counters the £2.75 bottle of coke from the ice cream kiosk). Worst part of the day was the toilets!! A single, old portacabin with a rotten floor and mouldy walls served the entire site. Not really appropriate for the size and volume of visitors for an attraction of this size. This should really be the next big change for the site. A purpose built, new and clean toilet block! Unfortunately I don’t think we’d ever be coming back after this visit.

Good Day, Thank you for feeding back to us here at Kent Life. We have made leaps and bounds where it has come to changes over the years. We have adapted and truly grown our offer for the people of Kent, which has been celebrated and enjoyed by many. Loving the heritage of the site still remains key to our core principles and I am so pleased to read that you are as passionate about our buildings as we are. In fact, the reason for the staircases I believe that have been highlighted to be roped off, is our very kind volunteers are working as speedily as they can to give a loving touch to the spaces. I do agree, in one of our buildings, we have ensured that safety comes first, and although a space would have been accessible 20 years ago, it remains our responsibility to reconsider every room for heavy footfall and modern safety requirements to limit access. Our toilets can become a challenge during the day, being a farm, and especially after lunch time, our facilities team can be seen zipping around and working super hard to tackle each cubicle as best they can for our guests comfort. Our commitment to ensuring that children and adults have a fantastic visit, and enjoy being absorbed into an environment with history and play mixed together has been very well supported over the years. It is lovely to read that your children enjoyed their time with us. We appreciate your feedback and we raise all feedback when arranging for Kent Life’s future years. It would be humbling to welcome you again in the future and hopefully you will see the love and attention we can continue to bring moving forwards. Best regards,

Went here over Easter but can't say I was particularly blown away by it. The only things that took my son's interest was the sandpit, adventure playground and the goats. The blacksmith working was quite interesting though. As I said overall abit disappointing.
