Loads of historical information available by just walking around - many tombs, in walls and on the floor, with lots of details, and peculiarities like stone mice and snakes on the effigies. Very old, and very well preserved - lookout tower frequently open [lots of...More

The Abbey has a lovely coffee shop located near the grounds. The evening was lovely. The Abbey is well worth a visit if you are located near the town centre.

I hate churches that look like they’ve been built in Disney with so much glitz and sparkle. This however was a warm and welcoming Abbey. It has its own simple charm and a lovely little shop too. It is free to enter but they do...More

A lovely abbey and well worth a visit. I couldn't help comparing it (favourably) with the beautiful St George's Chapel at Windsor. Staff in the abbey were very helpful and went above and beyond. The shop is nice too.

Stunning building with a fabulous history. Pay and display car park is adjacent at £1 an hour. No charge to get into the abbey. Ceilings are amazing with their patterns and colours. Takes an hour or so to walk round and take everything in.

You could be forgiven for thinking this to be a cathedral rather than a Parish Church albeit of the most distinguished proportions. Beautiful unhurried traditional Church of England beautifully and simply done. And a lovely new anthem composed by one of the singing boys. What...More
