The museum contains informative and colourful displays about the prehistory and Roman history of Ribchester, using many archaeological finds from the site, including coins, sculpture and metalwork. There are also remains of the Roman fort and baths outside the museum. Regular events and temporary exhibitions take place throughout the year. Pre-booked guided tours and educational visits can be arranged by email.

The museum was very interesting and well put together. The children we took with us (8,6 & 2) all found something interesting to look at and loved dressing up in the roman gear.

As we were staying in Ribchester it would have been rude not to call in here to have a look around. Unlike the previous reviewer, we found it really interesting. Lots to see in a small place. Cheaper entry fee for pensioners too.
