A great day out for all the family, the Harris Museum Art Gallery & Library is a treasure trove of fantastic art and fascinating objects for all the family. Come and explore our remarkable collections of fine art, contemporary art, fashion, textiles, ceramics, glass and history, all housed in a stunning Grade I listed building in the heart of Preston ... and we're completely free to visit! We're open seven days a week throughout the year (closed Bank Holidays). Relax in our cafe in one of the most stunning surroundings in Preston and buy an unique gift or memento of your visit from our shop. There is also a Makerspace for visitors to book onto our shared art, craft and technology workshops. There is free wifi, disabled access and baby-changing facilities.

Great place full of local history, lots of items, art, and if ever get the chance visit the third floor the Egyptian history museum, this you have to book and only a few people can visit at one time

I come here every so often. and enjoy the painting and ceramic floors, however exhibits, such as the Harry Potter one, are major let downs. There was a distinct lack of accurate material, of an actual Harry Potter nature and just in the room itself....More

First visit but thoroughly enjoyed. The building itself is very regal and the interior as some most interesting rooms and also a nice cafe.

child was excited by the advert on harry potter, but when we got there we found the displays far too advanced for children and not really about harry potter, mostly magic and history of magic. unhappy 10 yr old

If you are going to Preston town centre, you really must go visit as it is a really good place for all ages to enjoy. Wonderful architecture both inside and outside, all in good condition. Modern museum with interesting local information, also collections of ceramics...More
