Small but perfectly formed and presented

This is a lovely museum including the museum of the Lancaster King's regiment. The gravestone of the Roman soldier which was unearthed about 10 years ago is fabulous

A great place to visit over three floors. We only managed to cover 2 floors in the time we had set aside and it certainly didn't disappoint. Lots of interesting exhibits from years gone by. This is a free attraction and I would recommend to anyone as there is something for everyone to see. There are stair lifts for anyone... More

First it's free, very rare in this day and age. More importantly it is well worth a visit as there is plenty to see. You can learn a lot about the great history of Lancaster from Roman times to the present day. The military museum has a great collection of items as well as Victoria Crosses won by members of... Local history and the Royal Lancashire Regiment's History covered here, Well laid out with things for children as well as adults. It is not a big museum and is free. It is right in the centre of town in the Old Town Hall facing the market arcade and streets.

Disappointing as we went oit of our way to visit only to find it was closed on a Monday. The building itself looked dirty and in need of a good clean, especially the windows.

Lovely museum with lots to see. Great afternoon out for the family. I took my children and they enjoyed learning about the history of Lancaster and England. Free entry to the museum and a nice little gift shop on site.

Ground floor displays of local men who fought in the battle of the somme and history of the local regiment and the part it played in the battle. First floor an excellent museum of the local regiment from its inception to date. A good visit

The museum is well displayed and interpreted, well worth a visit, especially since it is free. However, it is a very good museum and you will definitively learn something from your visit. Highly recommended
