Interesting history on the life of a fishing folk and the industry and technology transformation such as railways and canal network

A superb way to learn about the slave trade and all sorts of port-related things. Really interesting information.

Great place to go and see what life was like living near the river and near the sea in Lancaster and Morecambe "back in the day". We actually went there with the grandchildren by accident on a wet day, but we were all glad that we did. Cant "BIG IT UP" enough.

This museum has some lovely model ships downstairs and an old rowing boat which enhance the historical displays and explain the great history of the old port of Lancaster. Upstairs, there are further exhibits including a beautifully made mock up of a packet boat on the Lancaster Canal. You can go inside, sit and relax and listen to audio memoirs,... More

Came on this little treasure on the heritage weekend, entrance was free, what a shame no one was visiting, we were the first visitors and that was 1pm. It was a lovely museum, very well set out, well worth a visit, use it or loose it.

Not very many boats to see, only a couple of small sailing ships. Good how they explain about Morecambe bay, and the cockling horse cart, good section on how to do knotts, some good films to see also is very interactive for children, Worth a visit if you are in the locality.

Found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful The content of the site was very interesting and great for persons with disabilities, as they have a modern lift that takes you to the top floor where the video tells you all about the slave trade connection
