Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Definitely worth a visit. Plan to arrive about 2hrs after high tide at Heysham. Take the short walk to Sambo's grave.

Very unusual place driving over the road after making shure we would not get cut off by the incoming tide..
One thing I would like to see is a .notice at start of causeway saying when the next high tide is so people knew how long they had before the road is under water.

Check the tide times before you cross the causeway because, if the tide comes in, you'll be stuck here for several hours! Having done that, you're sure to enjoy the view of the River Lune meeting the Irish Sea, the unspoilt village and the country walk to Sambo's Grave. The grave was simply on the edge of an open field in the past but now it's been mabe into a 'visitor experience' with a stone sculpture, a bird hide and interpretation boards stressing 'the immoral slave trade'.

For me Sunderland Point was magnificent, I had always wanted to ride on a motorbike on a tidal road, we took advice and arrived at the correct time with the tide out phew, make no mistake chancing it is not an option, however you do have a few hours window. We arrived at the parking space to visit Sambo's grave, look it up, very interesting, we had a lovely walk around, met some interesting locals then walked to the grave. Reasonably easy to park a car however on our motorbike we took really good care to ensure that we had a big rock underneath the stand as it was liable to tip fully laden on the shingle, fun morning then onwards to Scotland.

Absolutely beautiful here just wouldn't bring 2 kids as young as ours as we did because the walk is quite long and the way we went unsure if there is another way was no suitable they kept getting stuck in the mud and had to walk over the rocks to get to the village which was hard for us never mind them. Would definitely go again with my partner then again when they are older because it truly is beautiful. Didn't see any signs of the tide but did read about it in google a little bit. Got told by a lady who livessel there we had 20 mins to get back to the car park or we would be stuck for 3 hours with tired fed up kids. Turned out we didn't park at that car park we don't think as we was absolutely fine and it took us way over 20 minutes to return to the car with the kids.

We drove across the tidal path after consulting tidal times only to be met by a woman in a car who informed us the tide was coming in. We didn't stop, turned around and came back. The little we saw looked nice and it would be helpful if there was more information at the start of the tidal path about tide times etc.

Just visited on our way h9me from Morecambe . Parked on the mainland carpark and walked across .tide had just gone back out so still very wet and muddy . Toilets are still closed at the moment . Walked along the front then down to sambo grave. Nice place to visit for an hour .
Shame there’s not a little tea room or craft shop .
