Never again

Service was shocking. The old hag behind the bar was so rude towards customers and staff. No manors and disgustingly spoke to us after the waitress accidentally wrote our mobile number down incorrectly.

I had a chicken baguette - the chicken was crustier than my nan’s toenails.

The whole place was empty (rightly so) and a family got sat directly next to us, was not the 2m safe distance. The old hag continued to speak to others with disrespect and took forever to get our bill.

Lunchtime visit
Feb 2020 • Couples
Went to Lancaster for the day. We stopped here for a drink and decided to grab lunch while we were there. We ordered the lasagna and a hamburger respectively. Both were very basic and was lacking flavor. It was a nice place for a drink however.

One to try
Jan 2020
Went to see our daughters art exhibition at the Gregson centre but food wasn't being served as it was a Tuesday so we looked around and eventually rolled up at the Brown Cow. We asked for a menu and received it immediately. We ordered food and drinks and the friendly staff sorted us out post haste. We both had scampi chips and peas with a pint of cider. It went down well.

Poor food
Dec 2019 • Couples
Stopped in on a day out to Lancaster and wished we hadn't. Poor food, girlfriend left most of her pie and chips. Staff didn't bother to ask why. I had fish and chips and would guess the fish was from a packet like my mum used to do in the oven.

Expect better from a meal out.

Lovely Pub Lunch
Oct 2019 • Couples
On Saturday 5th Oct'19 whilst on a coach trip, we had a few hours stop in Lancaster.

Wanting a pub lunch, we noticed a board outside of the Brown Cow, advertising two meals for £9.

On entering the pub, it's not very big but has a lovely atmosphere & is nicely decorated.

On approaching one of the tables, one of the staff informed us that there was a 25 minute wait for food. We were happy to wait as we had plenty of time.

They have a really good menu, everything from main meals including gammon, fish, curry etc to pies, burgers, jacket potatoes etc.

The hubby decided on a burger, priced at £5.80 which came with chips & salad. I opted for one of their light bite plates(from the 2 for £9 menu), Home made cheese & potato pie with carrots, peas, chips & gravy for a fab £4.50. Along with two cokes, total bill was £14.70.

Our meals arrived within 25 minutes & both were delicious. Hubby said his burger was very tasty & my pie was really nice.

Definitely worth the wait & staff were so nice & friendly. Would definitely recommend trying this lovely little pub if your ever in the area. 10/10 from us.
