This place is magical & my kids make sure that I never forget that! We always enjoy the themed boat trips, which on Halloween & Christmas make it a special place to be. You won't beat the value for money when you book up. This place is a MUST visit all year round, but especially at those times of the year.…

Paid £40 for a pod! Such a shame no live performance due to Covid restrictions. It was replaced by a video we couldn’t hear - my son said it was boring. No torches and the cafe was closed ☹️. On a positive note we enjoyed the actual canal ride and service was friendly. The trip wasn’t what was advertised. …

A very disappointing trip that cost £30 for the three of us, my 6 year old said at the end 'that's it, that was rubbish'. Lack of things to see, stopped half way around to watch a short pumpkin film. The boat driver did apologise at the end and said they didn't have much time to sort, well don't charge full price then. …

We were so looking forward to the Halloween boat trip, but we were very disappointed. We paid £40 for a family of 4 and it was definitely not worth the money. Most of the lights and “entertainment” were on the left hand side and as we were sat on the right, we missed out on a lot of it. Such a shame that there wasn’t the opportunity for everyone to see those and pretty unfair when we all pay the same. The boat driver asked us if we were ready for the show and then said “well unfortunately there isn’t a live show due to Covid.” We then watched a short “film” of dancing skeletons and pumpkins. But again, as we were on the right, we had to stand up and try to see it over the top of everyone’s heads - not easy with little kids. Could barely hear the “film” either. But the “film” was so disappointing anyway. The kids (and adults) were bored. We were told there would be a special torch for spotting “Halloween stuff.” We didn’t receive this. I have been to events hosted by the Dudley Canal Trust before and they have been brilliant. But this was overpriced and very disappointing. The description of the event did not match the reality and it was vastly overpriced. There should have been a price reduction for the fact there was no live show or “uv torch activity”. When I booked it I was worried it might be too scary for my children but instead I was left with a very disappointed 5 year old who cried on the way home because it was nothing like expected and not scary. The only reason this isn’t 1 star is because of the effort that had gone in to making it Covid-secure. …

I had previously looked online to book a trip on this canal, but it suggested that they only operated Wednesday to Sunday. As we were walking around the Black Country Living Museum, we discovered it was open. What a delightful trip we had. The trip takes about 45 minutes and you go through a number of different tunnels. All hard hats are cleaned after use and you are socially distant on the barage. Definitely worth investigating.…
