Tour of the Cotswolds from Moreton-in-Marsh

141 reviews
There’s no need to worry about left-side driving, parking, or navigation on this Cotswolds small-group tour. Your friendly local driver-guide looks after the wheel and introduces you to each village and viewpoint—but with such a small group and three different stops for independent exploration, it barely feels like a tour at all.

An excellent small museum and certainly well worth a visit to learn more about C Ashbee and the Arts and Craft movement. Very impressed by the building, the quality of the exhibits and displays. The staff were lovely. We will certainly return for another visit when next in Chapping Campden.

We visited this excellent museum on our drive around the Cotswolds. The barn itself is a wonderful setting for an exhibition of the history of the arts and crafts movement and it’s links to the local area. The information boards complement the beautiful items in the display cases and there was a special display aimed at children. We were lucky that our visit coincided with the ”Christmas delights” sale of local handmade arts and crafts and we came away with some lovely items from this and also the permanent display. Really original jewellery, cards, books, and so much more! It was nice to see items priced to suit any budget. Helpful and friendly staff made the visit even more memorable.

I am so pleased you enjoyed your visit to the Museum, the Christmas Delights is a highlight of the year and celebrates creative talent in the Cotswolds. The volunteers and makers put a lot of effort into making the exhibition look great with some beautiful pieces for sale. We look forward to seeing you again

Step over the threshold of the ‘museum’. £5 entry, apparently. Tiny space. Some posters on the wall of a 15ft square room. Decidedly pompous lady greeting/invading my personal space, some papier-mâché going on in a room next door. Wouldn’t recommend unless you have a special interest, and by that I mean special interest in, invasions and tiny spaces!

I am sorry that you did not have a good experience at the Museum, our aim is to engage people in the world of arts and crafts, not only through what makers have produced in the past but also today. We are small but we have over 100 objects on display in the Museum, graphics which tell the story of the 20th designers in the area and a touch screen which provides further information. Our enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers greet people on arrival so that we can inform visitors upon entering what to expect so the visitor can then decide if they wish to visit.

Charged £5 per person, not alot of money but it is literally a few items placed around a small room. Took a few minutes to see. I felt the poor lady taking the money was embarrassed!! From the outside you expect to visit some old architecture but don't be fooled and disappointed.

Thank you for taking the time to comment, we appreciate all feedback. The ruins behind us are not part of the Museum, they are privately owned. We usually explain this as part of the introduction and I apologise that in this instance this was not the case.
